Why do I enjoy playing games on my PS4 over my PC?

That's actually a really good point. Windows 7 Has awful multi screen functionality so I have to Alt Tab every game (except Tomb Raider awesomely). If something comes into my mind and I want to google something, or check VGchartz or Youtube I could get lost then forget I was even playing. 

Similarily, whenever I get frustrated/bored in a game that isn't in full screen, I just quit for a while and go to YouTube or something, where, if I was playing on a console, I'd probably would've done anything to continue in the game rather than just giving up and trying again later.

I suppose no matter which console you own you have a huge company doing whatever awesome things they can come up with to entise people to buy their systems which really doesn't happen on PC. Linux, Mac and Windows just don't compete with each other. Steam has no competition. So.. that could also be a factor. You're constantly being massaged and asked if you would like more wine.
