Forums - Gaming - Why do I enjoy playing games on my PS4 over my PC?

This is an odd question but it seems like something only I can answer.. but I can't. I was wondering if some people may have the same thing out there or experience the same thing as me?

I have both a PC and a PS4 and I play both on the same IPS Panel. My PC is better than my PS4, it can play 30fps PS4 games at 60fps with higher levels of AA and some visual improvements.

I play both with a Dualshock 4 so there's no controller difference (unless I'm playing an FPS which I don't really play)

I don't DISLIKE playing on PC, I enjoy it.. just not as much. I still do when I can't get a game on PS4 or it's more convenient to get it on PC (Fuck yeah Killer Instinct)

Does anyone else experience this or am I alone? Do you choose to play the game on your Console over your more capable PC?

I don't believe you are alone, but you may be the minority.

In the end, it's just personal preference.

Maybe you just like the PS4 controller, or how that booting up a game on PS4 doesn't take as long as logging in on your PC, opening up Steam, and what not.

Again, nothing wrong with what you prefer.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

I use my PS4 controller on my PC. But I do enjoy the operating system, the boot speed, suspend and resume and install times just everything being there. Hmm maybe it's more the experience of it all?

I think that it may be the fact that playing on a PC is a far less immersive experience, it's way easier to be distracted off a gaming session on PC since with a PC the things you can do are endless, the possibilities are distracting and leave with the feeling maybe there is something else you can do that's just as or maybe even more fun than just playing a game, I know that it happens to me a lot. lol

This is the major reason that despite having around 200 games in my Steam library, I still gravitate towards my PS4 or Vita when I'm looking to play a game. It's not because my computer is incapable of giving me an experience I enjoy, rather, I keep finding myself alt-tabbing out to do different things. A computer is too distracting in what it can do, and I guess I just don't have the power to ignore the possibilities.

Idk, maybe u like the Ease of Use or something. I mostly prefer the PC over consoles but I can certainly see people liking consoles over PC

That's actually a really good point. Windows 7 Has awful multi screen functionality so I have to Alt Tab every game (except Tomb Raider awesomely). If something comes into my mind and I want to google something, or check VGchartz or Youtube I could get lost then forget I was even playing.

Similarily, whenever I get frustrated/bored in a game that isn't in full screen, I just quit for a while and go to YouTube or something, where, if I was playing on a console, I'd probably would've done anything to continue in the game rather than just giving up and trying again later.

I have a PC that has a GPU that is at least 4 times more powerful that what's in my ps4, more ram 21:9 monitor.....bla bla bla. But for the life of me, I cannot associate fun with anything that remotely looks like a PC.
