No.
Nintendo have burned everyone at this point, including their loyal core fanbase.
No matter how good NX is, consumers will be wary of buying into it for fear that they'll once again have to put up with constant game droughts, delays, and not getting the games they want.
It's late 90s Sega all over again; Wii U was the Saturn and NX will be the Dreamcast.

GameCube                                  Wii U

Luigi's Mansion                          Nintendo Land

Pikmin                                          New Super Mario Bros. U

Super Smash Bros. Melee        Lego City Undercover

Wave Race: Blue Storm            Game & Wario

Animal Crossing                        New Super Luigi U

Eternal Darkness                       Pikmin 3

Mario Party 4                             Wonderful 101

Metroid Prime                            The Wind Waker HD

Star Fox Adventures                 Super Mario 3D World

Super Mario Sunshine              Mario & Sonic Sochi Olympics

Wario Ware Inc.                         Wii Party U

1080° Avalanche                       Wii Fit U

F-Zero GX                                    DKC: Tropical Freeze

Kirby Air Ride                              Mario Kart 8

The Wind Waker                         Wii Sports Club

Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour      Hyrule Warriors

Mario Kart: Double Dash!!         Bayonetta 2

Mario Party 5                               Super Smash Bros. U

Pokémon Channel                      NES Remix Pack

Wario World                                 Captain Toad

Custom Robo                               Kirby Rainbow Curse

Donkey Konga                             Mario Party 10

FF: Crystal Chronicles               Splatoon

Four Swords Adventures          Devil's Third

Mario Party 6                               Super Mario Maker

Mario Power Tennis                   Yoshi's Woolly World

Metroid Prime 2: Echoes           Star Fox Zero

The Thousand-Year Door          Mario Tennis: Ultra Smash

Pikmin 2                                       Animal Crossing: Amiibo

Pokémon Colosseum                Xenoblade Chronicles X

GCN did not have as many or as severe game droughts as Wii U, since it had at least some third party support. And unlike Wii U, it wasn't overpriced and underpowered.

If it is what I'm sure it is and does what I think it will, yes.

Absolutely. Though a lot of sales will come from Japan. NX has no competition in the handheld area, and Nintendo is getting a lot more in touch with the otaku culture, take both FE games for example. If they release all of their games in one platform and get as much 3rd party support as 3DS, it's win already.

Development costs were also far lower during the GC era. That's how they were able to sustain it. That and Yamauchi was more willing to invest. If they actually fix the upper management (finally) then there's no reason they wouldn't have a decent shot.

That's the thing though, the problems with their upper management are so deeply entrenched that fixing it seems about as likely as a solid gold meteorite landing in my backyard.

I hope it's successful, but I don't expect that it will be.

Almost all that third party support was in 2012 and 2013 though. From 2014 on, nada.

Too early to tell.

I agree with this, if the NX comes anytime before holiday 2017 I will not buy it, period. I need to feel that my purchase is being supported at least for a reasonable time, that they will not just call it quits 2 years down the road, I don't want to feel that I am treated like a beta tester.
