Forums - Nintendo - What will Nintendo do about this huge problem?

While most of us are ligit smart players that don't mod and pirate. What do you think Nintendo is going to do about the pirates? China's uprising, digital downloading becoming bigger, the nintendo home console having WANTED games and the wii being so easily hacked and pirated what do you think Nintendo is going to do? These updates don't help because the pigs up'd and left from that area a long time ago. With such a casual base do you think nintendo will care? They could stay the bitches of the gaming industry. I mean they still sell, who cares if they lose a few 10 million copies every generation? What do you think they will or should do? Or for you techies what CAN they do at this point?

well.....there's really no stopping the piracy and hackers - esp. in China - no matter what you do. Other then those system updates, there really isn't that much Ninty can do as I can see

Da harddrivexxzzz is notzzer Gigzsa.

In other words, wii does not have a harddrive, therefore it limits these hackers' from downloading illegal games.

Yeah but as I said they up'd and left from that area a long time ago. AKA They simpily don't update. If they do, they come up with other methods of hacking. I don't see very many popular 360 and PS3 hacks? why is that? IDK. You tell me. All I know is they're doing something Nintendo isn't.

Wow, I know you're young but c'mon leo-j. There was rampant piracy before the original xbox went mainstream with an internal HD and people started downloading PSP games onto memory sticks. You dl the game and burn it onto a CD/DVD. People have been doing that for years since the original Playstation and will continue to do so regardless of the lack of a HD.

....360 hacks aren't popular? They cracked the 360 within a month, despite MSFT saying it will be uncrackable... 360 pirating is just as easy as Wii. And you're asking why PS3? Obviously the BR game size... So yes pirating on PS3 is impossible as of now, BR was Sony's defense against it.

Sorry but thats not all right, the fact that you can´t dump BR on the PS3s hardrive is why there is no piracy, the constant updates do help a lot...

Now you can unscrubble wii isos, so games like wiisports can be put on a 100MiB .iso file. Bomberman is a 1,7GiB and larger games like Resident Evil, 4GiB. You can download it and burn in DVD-R media, no need for HDs...

Nintendo can't do much thinks about wii piracy without loose MUCH money. The wii specs are alread on the wild, if they make a big change, they can create some incompatibility with older versions, loose a bunch of money with the "legal users"... and in the end someone would crack it again...

Nintendo are atacking scenes sites... and it REALY SUX... why can't we build a linux for WII that can play DVDs??? even sony alow to run free homebrews in linux mode...

BTW, about X360, MS made a BIG anti-piracy system, it is called 3RLs, or RRoD. I know a bunch of plp afraid to open a X360 and void warrant because they will need it...

Ouch it hurts to be put down by the dude ;_; I mean I worship you man...but I still stand by that it's the BR size that prevents piracy. Who wants to DL a huge 30-40 gb game. Even on my connection at 500kps it'd take me at least 3-4 days nonstop.
