they have invested much more before,for XBOX 1 and X360 they lost $9.5 BILLION but earned alot back from X360 profit but they may have put in as much as $12-15billion just on XBOX 1 and XBOX 360

they not putting as much on XBONE and they just seem to have left hope for it the way they are going.Also since X360 performance,XBOX brand losses and Windows delcine,the shareholders are not as easy as they used to be as MICROSOFT is not as dominant company as it used to be

and there also have been major news of MICROSOFT selling XBOX over the last 5 years

its getting alot and better titles as the wii u at least. a console that relies on exclusives only.

Selling mario maker as a big title is even ridicoulus. Games like little big planet got level editors for yeard. INCLUDED. And both xbox and ps already got real 3d game creation kids (porject sparks, ps4 will get dreams).

Since when has pretty much the biggest franchise in gaming needed help getting publicity? You don't exactly live up to your username, you're nuts if you think they'd throw away so many potential sales... Maybe they could have got a deal if microsoft never turned their image around or made any changes and sony gave them an absolute fuckload of money... But it's never happening in a million years now

and LATER release on XBONE and PC would as it make 10-15million more in sales so they are not losing anything really

No company in their right is leaving more than half a billion in sales (on the low end )to a possible billion (on the high end) out in the wild.

The realistic question would be, does Sony have the money to make it a console exclusive?

ROCKSTAR doesn't have allegiance to either company but they have big relationship to SONY and PS2 has a major part in ROCKSTAR's success.

GTA would be a Timed exclusive not a full exlcusive as it has always been,10-15million sales would easily be couped up a year later launch on XBONE and PC.

 

the way its going they would need to pay as low as $100 million or as high as $200-300million OR they would just put $200million for marketing GTA6 which they would as it is do even if it was multiplatform so its actually not charging them atall.SONY spent $100million for GTA5 marketing on its own not even a deal with ROCKSTAR and MICROSOFT spent $100million for GTA4 marketing.

thats chunk change for what it would do not just for PLAYSTAION as a brand but also SONY

 

and thats if they don't already have an exlcusive deal with ROCKSTAR

Rockstar would only sell either one DLC, timed exclusive? Hell no When you make a game that sells on any system it is put on, You hold all the cards. 

Don't believe me? Look at Call of Duty. The amount of money needed to hold a game off another console (temporarily) that has an user base that also buys the hell out of that game would be too high for either company.

Besides why waste that money locking up timed exclusivity, when you can fund new IP's, or does that scenario only apply to Sony's competitors..

Not gonna happen. GTA is probably the hottest commodity in the business, sony would have to pay out the ass for exclusivity, as in hundreds of millions of dollars. Sony could probably make it back in the long run but instead they could pay a fraction of that for exclusive marketing and content and profit far more.

First off, the XB1 isn't bombing.  It's tracking ahead fo the 360.  It only appears to be bombing due to the massive sales of the PS4.  Secondly, Sony's E3 conference was full of niche titles, multiplats, and games that won't release until 2016 and beyond (except for Uncharted which is mainstream).  If you haven't noticed, the PS4's exclusives for the rest of the year are indies, remakes, and niche titles.  Those don't sell consoles, sorry to tell you the truth. 

Microsoft had an awesome E3 and showed that they're dedicated to the XB1 by showing 7 exlusive titles that are coming to XB1 this holiday season.  I don't understand why people are downplaying that.  Microsoft is making a comeback, whether you like it or not.
