Just wasting their time if they honestly think there's any chance the game will be canceled. Just don't buy it and move on.

I feel like they can't possibly expect the petition to cancel it and it's more so their way of showing displeasure.......at least I hope so.

The most liked reasons, if I'm remembering correctly since I read them around 12+ hours ago, were that this was disappointing and not what they wanted or expected from the first Metroid game after a half decade of radio silence. Like I said earlier, I doubt most people are signing legitimately expecting the game to be cancelled. It's simply the easiest avenue to voice displeasure in one unified voice.

Pathetic, juvenile and over-entitled.

If you don't like it, don't buy it. Where was the outrage when Nintendo launched Metroid Prime: Pinball? Seriously, seriously pathetic, and a sad day for the industry when there are thousands of 'fans' who think in this manner.

I enjoy everybody bringing up Metroid Prime Pinball because they truly, truly do not understand why fans of the Metroid series would be so upset. To give perspective, Metroid Prime Pinball came out around the tail end of the Metroid boom. We had just gotten Metroid Prime 2 the year before, and the years prior had the GBA Metroid games as well as Metroid Prime 1. Not to mention the DS had already been promised Metroid Prime Hunters (a demo of it came with the original DS). Metroid Prime 3 came in 2007.

This came after a Metroid drought. There were no Metroid games since Other M in 2010, and that game was outsourced to a company that proceeded to turn out a flop of a game. There have been no good Metroid games since Prime 3 in 2007. Now, take a moment and imagine that your favorite series had no news of any kind of new game for 5+ years. Now imagine that a game is announced, but it's a generic looking spinoff announced in the most trollworthy way a game announcement could be made. Are you telling me you'd just say "well okay, I got a good game around eight years ago, and this is totally not what anybody was asking for, but OKAY"?

The game certainly doesn't look exciting from what I've seen, though it could honestly be very fun to play.
The excitement of seeing Metroid pop on the screen then to be shown this really was just plain cruel.

But footage of the game was shown before the the word Metroid even appeared. Did you guys think it was going to be a sequel to Metroid Prime Hunters?

I understand why they are mad at Nintendo, but what's the point of making this petition? Cancelling it won't undo the wound, and it won't spawn Metroid Prime 4 either.

Well yes there was a few seconds, but not a lot. You know what I mean :)

I didn't expect a sequel, I didn't know what was happening honestly haha.

Gotta be fair though, with almost no third party support it is like Nintendo needs to make every game count. So I can understand if some Nintendo fans don't like this Metroid game and freak out. On the other hand some seem to like it, so there's that.

You tube video has like 9% like rate....

I suppose that 9% still qualify as "some", don't you think? I do. :D

Nintendo is selling their IPs to Microsoft and this is true because:

I don't get it, its just a spinoff game anyways, why so much hate?

The hate is because Other M failed. People wait for a long time. Than you see Blast Ball. Rage quit. It be like starving out in the desert. You find a town. Then to find out they have one loaf a bread left in the fridge.
