| Asriel said: Pathetic, juvenile and over-entitled. If you don't like it, don't buy it. Where was the outrage when Nintendo launched Metroid Prime: Pinball? Seriously, seriously pathetic, and a sad day for the industry when there are thousands of 'fans' who think in this manner. |
I enjoy everybody bringing up Metroid Prime Pinball because they truly, truly do not understand why fans of the Metroid series would be so upset. To give perspective, Metroid Prime Pinball came out around the tail end of the Metroid boom. We had just gotten Metroid Prime 2 the year before, and the years prior had the GBA Metroid games as well as Metroid Prime 1. Not to mention the DS had already been promised Metroid Prime Hunters (a demo of it came with the original DS). Metroid Prime 3 came in 2007.
This came after a Metroid drought. There were no Metroid games since Other M in 2010, and that game was outsourced to a company that proceeded to turn out a flop of a game. There have been no good Metroid games since Prime 3 in 2007. Now, take a moment and imagine that your favorite series had no news of any kind of new game for 5+ years. Now imagine that a game is announced, but it's a generic looking spinoff announced in the most trollworthy way a game announcement could be made. Are you telling me you'd just say "well okay, I got a good game around eight years ago, and this is totally not what anybody was asking for, but OKAY"?
