In fact I believe the NX (Nintendo boX) will have 4 screens. It will be a box type device you place over your head attached to a rotating rod fixed to the top of the inside of the box, allowing you to view any of the 4 screens at will..
Xbox 360 and Xbox One

It could very well be, but with the big difference that Nintendo won't get into financial trouble. If they do leave the console business, it will be on their own accord.

dont be so literal. Another way of saying what I meant is the NX will be Nintendo's Waterloo. I kept it with a gaming reference. My point is, the NX will fail commercially and it will force Nintendo to go 3rd party (where I believe they could have huge success) |
Ergo, low sales but it can be a financial success so...
You have in your mind great sellers with huge losses/no profits/or low profits(I.E financial flops) rightly?Don't base it to the sales but profits!Even wii u is now profitable...
And it was the first ever Nintendo home console to make a loss in Nintendo's history, and the second generally, the first hardware of making a loss was 3DS in 2011 after the mandatory price drop which alone wasn't economically harmful,Nintendo's stupidity of cost controling hurt them in 2011 and in 2012 with wii u,but both have been reversed...
Also recognise the advantage of selling your own software on your own hardware, you can understand what I'm implying,go third party it seems to be catastrophe & not a viable move, how some people can suggest it with such an ease,do you do a research to see if that is beneficial?Oh god!
Nintendo-Sega comparison is misguided, for God's sake, sega hadn't the huge cash and ip strength of Nintendo, which finally exploits it (Theme parks, movies, featuring of the iconic characters on mobile games and in general all the other moves of Nintendo's current expansion)Lets not forget the very succesful handheld consoles that Nintendo had/has/will have...
For instance,Nintendo is able of doing key minor moves to always save the game, amiibos are crazy sellers, although it hasn't caught the younger audience since they are being bought by grown-ups in the overwhelming majority...Sega was damned, they rushed out and their only resort then was going third party, which you can see that hasn't really helped them, now they focus on mobile!
Lastly, mid stream of the competitors? Are you sure that xbox one won't be replaced in 2017-2018 given that isn't in a great shape unless we'll see a huge turnaround,I mean of not getting on the whole slaughtered by ps4,which is not very probable and force sony to release ps5?(If nx releases in 2016 then yeah,it's somewhat mid stream!)
Something like 6th gen,do you remember?xbox 2001->xbox 360 2005,ps2 2001-> ps3 2006...
Im gonna sing The Doom Song now! Doom doom doom doom doom, doom doom do DOOM, DOOOM doom do-doom, DOOM do-doom doom doooom, doom doom dooom, do-do-DOOOM! Doom doom doo doom doom, DOOMY-DOOMY-DOOM, doom do do DOOM, Do do DOOM, doomy-doomy-doomy, Doom doom doom

But it will not sell well as Nintendo had hoped and they will throw in the towel after 2 years, and announce they are developing as a 3rd party for home consoles, and mobile games. Zelda NX and Mario 3D will be ported to the PS4 and XB1 by CMAS 2019 and sell like crazy. |
Lol
-Sega in West was released in 1995. and already discontinued in 1998. Wii U is released in 2012. in West and in 2016. will still get Nintendo games, so hardly can be discontinued before 2018.
-I can't see that next Nintendo gen will sell less than 3DS/WiiU and even with them Nintendo is making money. Also Nintendo company and their finances are much healthier than Sega ever was. They literally can make 3 more like Wii U flops and survive, but of course they will not do that, in last 2 years Nintendo have some big changes and they continuing to change.

Yes, I am convinced of this.
Thus the Waterloo comment (Napolean went all or nothing in that battle). They are going to lay all their cards on the deck with the NX (Which I think we be a console that is more heavily integrated with their handheld, I take it as they are merging their branding, and trying to offer a more seamless experiance between their handheld and console). They will launch(or have available in the 1st year) with Zelda (which I think will be ZeldaU), a 3d Mario, and a pokemon game.
Basically I dont believe the NX is one product, but rather a line of products function together (hell, it might even have a "Steam" like PC platform with it). I dont know how the entire product line will fair, but I am predicting the console will have minimal success. If they build the entire line around the console it could drag the entire concept down with it.
Also, just because Nintendo is profitable does and has good cash flow does not mean they wont go 3rd party. They will go with what they see as the most profitable route. IMO Nintendo would be better served by focusing their talents on making good game that are not limited by their own poor hardware choices. Can you imagine how well Zelda, Mario, etc would do on the PS4? I dont think the WiiU's failure has as much to do with people not liking Nintendo's games and characters as much as them not liking the hardware (and the lack of other than Nintendo software choices on it).
