Forums - Gaming - What was your biggest triumph and disappointment of E3?

Triumph - The last guardian. And horizon. My hype was met.
Disappointment - Starfox.

Around the Network

triumph: shenmue and TLG.

dissapointment: nintendo specially star fox. this game looks meh.

Triumph - Final Fantasy VII Remake. I can't wait to play. I'm just curious of how it will be different and the same.

Disappointment- Mentioning/showcasing of mobile games. I just depise mobile gaming. It seems really cheap and designed just for $$$.

Triumph - between The Last Guardian and FFVII remake
Dissapointment - Star Fox

Two games I've always wanted.. at one E3 conference. Couldn't ask for anymore really. But then we got Shenmue 3 as well lol.

Triumph: Horizon- Gameplay was utterly stunning. The world was breathtaking, loved the female protag, and the environment itself. I'm also glad they showed a good amount of gameplay.

that was also my biggest "triumph" of this whole conference, and i know FF7, TLG and Shenmue 3 had the biggest impact and shock value but being honest NONE of them come close to making me as excited like Horizon, as i said before Horizon looks like the G.O.M.L (GAME OF MY LIFE), it even puts the souls franchise to shame (and thats one of my favorite franchises ever).

just to point out some stuff that made fucking excited for the game:}

1) Robot Dinosours... i loved dinosours as a child (Jurassic Park being one of my favorite movies ever) and i always loved robots (my favorite game of all time is ZOE 2 a mech game if you dont know what that is) and seeing both of those things combined and the fact that it actually looks amazing is just so... SO UP MY ALLEY, the designs of those dinomechs is amazing (looks like something out of a japanese developer).

2) its not just an RPG, its an action rpg (and i love those), it actually looks more like an action game with RPG elements instead of an actual ARPG which is good because thats exactly what i want,

3) this is a post apocaliptic world like no other, it isnt the typical nuclear wasteland that we have seen for decades (a la fallout, mad max) neither the post zombie outbreak (a la TLOU and any other zombie game), but a world that is incredibly beutiful that isnt damaged by the pollution humans created with abandoned old "modrern" cities to explore and the new castles and little villages made by the current humans living in the world, not to mention that you dont know what happened to the old civilization (and why there are robodinos ruling the world) so it gives you a huge interest in exploring those old abandoned cities in order to figure out what the fuck happened

4) the gameplay looks amazing!, how she moves arround the enviroments (sliding down rocks, jumping very fluidly between them, hidding in the bushes, sliding down that robodino while shooting an arrow at its weak point... just orgasmic), and then there is all the stuff that she did when fighting it like using a small EMP arrow, nailing it to the ground with cables, blowing up its lazer weapons  and then using them against him (which you apparently can carry arround so they are not just a 1 use item) and then the melee options... fuck so good so F#CKING GOOD.

5) the potential, from looking at the concept art, the rumors (that turned out true) and the trailer, we know there is crafting in the game, that you will be able to wield guns (probably made from or just taken from the Robodinos) and if the concept art holds to be true we will be riding those mechs a la Dragons Dogma... oh my god i cant wait

Guerrilla Games out did themselves with this COMPLETELY, they just made the most Interesting and promising NEW IP that i have seen in more than a decade, nothing from any western and japanese developer in the last decade have come close to being as interesting and promising as this, (of course this is just my opinion but its how i really feel

and sorry for the long post...

Disappointment: sorry i had none, i think this is the best E3 ive seen in my life (every conference that i saw was great)

EDIT: i just remembered the game also has destructible enviroments, (that rock that the mech blew up with missiles) and it wasnt a set piece it was just the players choice to go over there... oh men this is so good

Triumph - Tie between Gears and the new Xbone UI.

Letdown - Calls of Doody. I guess after Blops II I should have expected Treyarch to embrace the all out madness the MP has become but it's still a shame to see.

Triumph: Horizon, game of E3.

Disappointment: Nintendo, just, all of it.

Triumph: Fallout 4.
Sony future outlook

Disappointment:
Second half of 2015 gaming from Sony and key third party developers.
Nintendo e3 conference.

Sony. Nintendo. Guess which is which.

Triumph: Probably one of the greatest E3 events we'll see in a very long time.

Failure: I personally don't have any. Wish everyone enjoyed it as much as I did, I guess
