To be honest... a type of Wii U game would just be a waste of money. Better to make it cheaply on the 3DS and put good money in the NX's Metroid version. That's the smart thing to do.

Agree. This should be something with a treatment similar to Fossil Fighters. If it was advertised as "EXTREME SPORTS IN THE DISTANT FUTURE: Fight all the alien monsters with your MASSIVE LASER CANNONS! Shoot the ball to your enemies AND SQUASH THEM! (Squash them! Squash them!...). Three on three to score three times. THREERRIFIC ACTION ON THE GO". For every new IP that is successful (Splatoon), a couple of them never really take of (S.T.E.A.M., W101...). The only thing this game is going to do is make the Metroid franchise look worse.

It does not look bad. BUT it does not deserves to be a Metroid game at all. They should had made this a new IP.

There's nothing intrinsically wrong with the game in my eyes. It might be an OK game as a standalone new IP on the eShop. The problem here is slapping the Metroid Prime name on it. What's the point of it? It only antagonizes fans of the series who have been waiting for a "true" title for years and it's not what people want.

No doubt it can be a fun little game. But still, calling it a Metroid game is the problem here.

Agreed that this should be a Wii U game, but if this game wasn't Metroid, as a new IP, I think salewise, it would bomb pretty badly

I was watching the Live Treehouse event and they were playing this game earlier. It actually looked and played pretty good. I think Nintendo just made the mistake of slapping the Metroid name on this wihtout giving us a proper Metroid game first.

I saw the trailer, this game is a downloadable release right? Not full retail price, right?

I hate how they pretty much slapped the Metroid name on this game, that honestly looks really crappy.

Doesn't help when you compare it to games like Ironfall, which looks a lot better, and does a better job at creating a setting you would see in a Metroid game.

Soooooo... 8/10?
