I don't understand who they're trying to appeal to with this game. The Metroidvania sub-genre is well and alive. So I believe Nintendo should have catered to the fans of the classic Metroid games, and actually made this title the sidescroller that everyone was expecting ever since it was rumored to be in development for the 3DS.

I think it's an insult to the Metroid Prime franchise. Why Metroid Prime? Does it have anything to do with it? It doesn't even feel like a spin-off.
Because THIS is what the Metroid franchise needed to recover from Other M...
I kid, I actualy liked Other M. But with the general consensus on Other M, the Metroid name keeps getting tainted more and more.
