The home console market is not as big as the 6th gen, due to competition with PC and Japan becoming a mobile/handheld predominant market. If we beliebe this gen will be shorter than the last, PS4 will come close to reach PS1 numbers, but nothing more. Unless the XBone crumbles in the middle of the gen, PS4 wont come close to the 70% marketshare.

6th gen?

7th gen was the biggest gen of them all

 

and this gen will atleast be 7-8years

and competition from PC and mobile has actually made it easier as popularity of gaming is higher

the way it is going,nobody knows

18million WiiU's look hard especially if NX console launches next year and the way Nintendo kills old console

even 35m XBONE's look tough as MICROSOFT seems to have given up and XBOX sale rumors and MICROSOFT shareholder backlash or if MICROSOFT launches XBOX NEXT with NX in 2017 or 2018 or APPLE TV
