Umm it is LIMITED titles like 360, this is hardly a big thing. 100 games out of thousands.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of list wars suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced. I fear something terrible has happened.

I thought this was the best bit of their conference and something that is a real gamers thing.... shame the rest of the conference was quite boring, so it took a bit of a shine off that announcement.

Question is how important that is going to be now... would you prefer a old game or a HD game... I think perhaps that's what Phil meant by we don't want to do remasters. But then isn't this a bit of a strange situation with gears of war... why remaster it if you can play the old versions? Excellent gamer PR but confusing message imho.

Clearly, many people here do not have an Xbox One so they don't get why backwards compatibility is a big deal. There are many great Xbox 360 games that I still like to play, but am so used to how well the Xbox One works - how to can instantly switch between things, pause, TV (watch the high speed chase) check on something, then resume.

Plus many games are to get a graphic and frame rate improvement, plus you get to keep the Xbox One features. The difference between a 6th gen and a 7th are quite a bit different. Many 7th gen games still look pretty good and play well.

This is NOT the same as the WiiU as they DO NOT do a graphic/frame rate upgrade. So when you play an old Wii game on the WiiU you get a screen full of jaggies.

This is a big bonus for the Xbox One.

This is big news because it was unexpected and this generation was turning into "let's just remaster tons of old games" and now it gives us hope. Now with BC there is an extra reason for gettingthe system especially for non-Xbox fanboys. .Also the whole "Ps3" had bc is dumb, because first it launched at the crazy price of 599 (yes there was the 499 crappier version too), they had to get rid of the emotion chip for software emulation and realized they would make money via dl and scrapped it.

Any word on performance improvement? I missed E3, logged into this site and kissed when I saw this. I also got messages from Xbox on my phone saying I'm in a Gears of War beta. Feels like Christmas!
