This is crazy news right here! Feels great to be an Xbox One owner right now. I can't keep up with the awesome stuff they keep announcing. This is definitely in the top 2 though.

Offer a few months (possibly year) of PSnow. And this BC stuff can be countered. I think its silly the BC stuff has people flipping out. I personally dont play anything from last gen even though this gen has been a letdown thus far.

Good to see micro is still betting their hardware. Not seen anything on the actual show that has knocked my socks off.

Closest thing sony can come to countering this is giving psnow access to psplus members without an increase in price for psplus.

Thanks jlmurph!

Only part during their press conference which had me surprised. The rest was pretty much filler  ( except for the Rare collection and that awesome cuphead game now that's a cool game ) overall though it was a very strong E3 conference.

Two threads with all caps titles? Darth... is that you?

Well I stand correct. No backwards compatibility via emulation. But kudos for making the games forward compatible. Seems to be easy since the architecture of X1 is close to 360.
I kinda doubt Sony will do it that way. 1st because it's a hassle and second because PSNow would be insta dead.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

this is cool and all, but wii u was bc day one.

That doesn't really help xbox fans who want to play their 360 games on the One though.

The Wii U is region locked, if they remove it through a firmware update should I point out that the One (and PS4) was region free from day one?

It's a good thing to have it and it's an advantage against the competition but I doubt it will do much for it. We will see.

So is it all games or does there need to be stuff done to get games to work? The conference made it seem like every game, but on giant bomb there was a list of 'compatible' games

Edit: either way its pretty baller, I would love it if Sony did this :(

I admit Xbox One drop the bom today, It will be hard for PS4 to emulate PS3 games. But i am still have some curiosity how x86 CPU can emulate Power PC (especially 3 core modified Power PC on Xbox 360). I am not saying it's impossible for PS4 to emulate PS3, but it will be difficult then emulating Xbox 360 on Xbox One. Overal good announcement for people who care for old games. I guess we still have to wait and see is this emulation work perfectly or not. I hope SONY can give a good shows tonight.

The Xenia emulator has been advancing by leaps and bounds lately, and running fairly accurately on FX-6300s, so I think the CPU requirements for PS3/X360 emulation have been fairly overblown. Most PS3/X360 games ran most of the game code on a single thread anyways, leaving the other two for OS, sound etc.

I guess since MS owns the base coding they could somewhat split the load of CPU emulation among the weak-ass Jaguar cores  on the X1. Someone who knows better of single-thread and multi-thread computing might correct me though...

This is amazing news for XB fans! Now that Bestbuy deal about trading in your Xbox360 for $175 off an XB1 won't feel so bad about letting go.

...but I feel like MS is only doing this now because of the lack of games they're getting for XB1 so by adding BWC will "increase" their library. If they had BWC from the start then that's a different story because nobody knows the outcome of game support they'd be getting.

Anyways this is a BIG WIN for fans!
