Forums - Sony - Will Ratchet & Clank PS4 avoid being the lowest selling mainline title in the series?

It will sell:

More than 1.8M 57 86.36%

Less than 1.8M 9 13.64%

Total:66

I think it could sell 2+ million.

A reboot means they're resetting the franchise. It's a re-imagining. It's based on the movie's retelling of the first game, but they're not resetting canon and suddenly going to do the entire series all over again.

I'm pretty sure that's what they're doing. If we see more R&C games they'll follow this new one, nothing will continue the previous games.

So they made a slightly different version of the first game solely to make slightly different versions of all following games and to piss off their entire fanbase they've built over the past decade, and NOT because the movie logically had to be the first game's plot and the first game was too dated for six year old kids to get into compared to every subsequent game.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

Did I say that? Cause that would also mean it's not a reboot.. I'm saying the next games will follow this new canon or there won't be any next games.

You're talking like those are the only two options. There's also the third option; that it's just a reimagining of the first game to coincide with the movie, to build up the fanbase, and that the next game will follow the original canon (Which this reimagining fits into).

Nexus' primary release was digitally, so thats why sales are lower

The PS4 is steamrolling everything combined with the fact that it will be released along side the animated movie plus it's $20 cheaper than most retail game means that it will be up there with the higher selling RC games.

Loosely. There are a few tidbits that don't fit smoothly because Insomniac didn't care enough to be perfect with an already-flawed canon. Everything new can be assumed to just have always been there in canon though, since Sasha was suddenly dropped for five  years until the comics.

Given the PS4's resounding popularity, and that there is still apparently a large audience for classic platformers, seeing how well Yooka-Laylee is already doing, I'd say it has a good chance of at least outselling Crack in Time. I'm gonna go with 2 - 2.5 million lifetime. It all depends on how well Sony markets it. If they push the fact that it's a reboot to the series as a whole, then I can see it doing pretty well.

0331 Happiness is a belt-fed weapon

it wont be the lowest, but it wont be the highest either

It will 100% outsell Into the Nexus. 100%. I'm not sure about anything beyond that, though. 1m+ is a certainty as far as I'm concerned.
