The Witcher has barely a presence on console. The marketing will not only benefit The Witcher 3 but future sequels.

But yeah I do agree it's a lot of money. At least the marketing isn't used to make people buy into a bad product. I hate that.

People don't like to admit it but marketing is important for games. I rather see games marketed than some lame products.

High budget marketing doesn't mean the product is good, just like a game with hardly any marketing doesn't make it bad.

Also, you're saying that this has never happened before with a high profile game?  Although game development used to cost much, much less?  That's interesting.

It can be. It not so bad on products that deserve it. Just hate it when it's used to mislead the public that their product is better than it is.

Great game, a bit of a bug riddled mess, but a great game none the less. Hope they actually profit from the game, that marketing tab is ridiculous.
