They're Both 3D...but which is better to you?

Super Mario 3D Land 28 18.18%

Super Mario 3D World 115 74.68%

Super Mario 3D Land World... 11 7.14%

Total:154

3D World... cause it's simply 3D Land evolved: bigger, better, refined and in HD.

Bet with Teeqoz for 2 weeks of avatar and sig control that Super Mario Odyssey would ship more than 7m on its first 2 months. The game shipped 9.07m, so I won

I haven`t played Land, but I`d probably say World. It`s better to play with friends if you can, as well as Rosa x ) Though I imagine Land is also a great game.

3D World just felt bigger and improved over its predecessor and while the multiplayer could be frustrating, I've still had a blast playing it with friends. I still enjoy 3D Land though to a lesser extent.

You must have good pals to play with. The guys I play with now just... suck! The only reason I liked Rosalina was because she had an attack without a power up. That's always a plus. She kinda sounded less...echo-ey in that game which kinda pissed me off. :/ Land is great. The poll is in favor of World so far, but I just thought that 3D Land was the tighter, more compact package.

Both games were great, but honestly, I thought 3D Land was more memorable than 3D World.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Oh, trust me, I played every level. I went to the magical space lands and everything! I'm just good I guess :D No, for real though I may have been a bit fast there, checking Wii U play log...3D World played for 12 hours. So, it's 12 hours then. I just haven't 100% completed everything with flagpoles and stuff. I just love 3D Land because it felt like it was more of a platformer to me than world. I felt that world was trying too hard to mix in elements from traditional 3D Mario games.

As for playing with my siblings, they've gone on now. To university and stuff. They don't have time for silly ole' me anymore. Now I have to play with younger ones...it isn't fun.

Yeah, yeah, I also felt that 3D World was a bit redundant. No offense but it was like. "haven't I already played this though?".  *I'M NOT A TROLL* 3D Land was just really addicting as you said. I do believe that the game is creative in its own right, the music, the level graphics, that was great. What I wasn't fond of was the sprawling levels that want you to explore but there was usually little to be found. I just wanted a more direct level design for this specific sub series.

Okay, now there's confirmation that you were not telling the truth.

As for the rest, it looks like you are trying to cover up the real reason why you don't like 3D World. It's not Super Mario Galaxy 3 or Super Mario 64 2. I mean, come on. Most of 3D World's level design consists of platforming sections and it's not like 3D Land was a challenging game. 3D World actually managed to implement difficulty without resorting to tough time limits and Shadow Mario.

Ah ha, Shaggy...please deduce...

Just kidding, what did I lie about? lol I don't like 3DW as much as 3DL because of level design. I'll just put it that way. I know it can't be Galaxy 3 or 642 but they tried to mix old and new with 3D Land and for some reason it worked...really well. I just think that the same success wasn't prevalent in 3D World. The levels were too large and didn't amount to much when exploring them so I felt that much of the extra space was just wasted space that could have been used for online multiplayer XD

I def want to buy Land some time and play it. It looks really fun, and I hear it picks up after the 2nd half, but I felt I didn`t want to be fitted in with the people who only buy all the Mario and Zelda games, haha...

You lied about finishing everything in 3D World.

I fail to see how 3D World's levels were too large. Most of them were straightforward paths, just like in 3D Land.

Oh, well I never said I 100%, just finished all the levels. You don't need all flags to get to the grandmaster stage thingy. Take Spring Bell Hill for instance. All the space at the beginning of the stage was just plain unnecessary. There are patches of plain space in 3D World that simply didn't exist in 3D Land. Of course once again, it was made for 4 players. This just sets me off because it's like they're trying to tell you to explore over 'here' even though there's nothing even there. 3D Land was like, here you go now get to where you need to go. I probably don't make much sense...I usually don't when explaining abstract concepts. Let's agree to disagree shant we?

3D World. Beat the game and a few secret levels while I never really had much interest in 3D land

Indeed, you don't make any sense. If somebody looks up world 1-1 in both games (Spring Bell Hill is 1-1 in 3D World) on Youtube, they will wonder what difference you are talking about, because there is none. The only thing worth mentioning is that 3D World has invisible coins, so the "empty" space in the home console game might actually have something of interest instead of plain nothing like in 3D Land.

I don't agree with an agreement to disagree. Your opinion is wrong. Admit defeat.

Hey bro, it's just a game man. Opinions have no defeat. Opinions...can't be wrong until proven wrong I'm afraid. 3D World is too large, in my opinion. There was just too much empty space that didn't serve a purpose. That's all I'm saying. Coins are hardly an incentive to explore..especially considering the fact that you do nothing with them but this ins't what this thread is about.  Just say if you like one over the other. I like 3D Land over 3D World because of the linear level design that they tried to recapture from classic 2D Mario games. I don't like 3D World as much because the game tried to step too far on the 3D Mario side. Can we at least try to respect someone's opinion before we get all frustrated? It's really not worth all this. Many people don't understand genii, maybe I'm a genius? :O
