Not going to happen this year.
Last year in the last 8 months Nintendo only Shipped 7.08 million 3ds's worldwide.
Looking at NPD and Japan numbers theres no way its going to sell another 9 million this year

I can understand the Media Create chartz, but the NPD... what!?

3DS in 2015 have sold more than in all other years... 2015 > 2012 > 2013 > 2011 > 2014 as for April.

Surely you realize the US just had a new version of the 3ds released in Feburary?, but if you look at the most recent data, April NPD 3ds which was 116k that temporary boost is now over It wouldn't surprise me if the 3ds is under 100k in May.
