So, if there is an Uncharted 5 in a few years, it will feature a new main character? Didn't know that.

More like there won't be an Uncharted 5, at the very least not from ND

So this is the last Uncharted? Surpised they'd kill off their most popular franchise. They are developing a TLOU sequel though, right? That's almost as popular as Uncharted.

They killed off Jak and Daxter after 3 main games, though it did survive with spin off games for a little while.

I guess in the gaming world we are just not used to people feeling like they've told a complete story and want to creatively move on. Instead we are used to IP being recycled over and over for multiple generations. Of course story based franchises are expected to have shorter lifespans than franchises where story is pretty much non-existent.

They proved time and time again that they can create a new IP 10 times better than the last one and they always deliver, i want them so bad to try doing some fantasy IP or sci fi IP, with the best staff in the business i can only imagine the creatures these guys could create.

Not fantasy IMO, sci-fi is the way for them to go if they want to move away from contemporary timelines (TLOU is set within 20 years from or before now, based on the level of technology present in the game). The Order is set in the past, God of War is set in the ancient past, Resistance was around WWII, KZ is the future / sci-fi but it appears GG is going fantasy with its next franchise.

If one connects Uncharted's roots to Indiana Jones (and Tomb Riader of course), why not connect the next game's roots to another Harrison Ford character: Han Solo?

good they need to kill of either drake or elena get new characters that actually care about treasure hunting so that theres more action orientated gameplay rather than love scenes this way we get a game that plays like drakes fortune rather then drakes deception

Sounds about right. Druckmann forced out Amy Hennig already so why not make his golden child 100% the star by getting rid of her lingering creation?

Not that Uncharted really needed to go past 4, but Druckmann ensured it wouldn't with the coup.

You should check out my YouTube channel, The Golden Bolt!  I review all types of video games, both classic and modern, and I also give short flyover reviews of the free games each month on PlayStation Plus to tell you if they're worth downloading.  After all, the games may be free, but your time is valuable!

I'd like to see another IP. Naughty dog is great, but uncharted is too. If Sully is still doing it, I don't see why Drake can't.

Before the PS3 everyone was nice to me :(

I'd like to see the series to continue. Just replace Drake with a person with Boobs and I'll be all over that.

No surprise here. Sony actually knows how to retire franchises to make way for new ones. And since ND is given a tremendous amount of creative freedom in what they do, this is almost certainly the last Uncharted we'll see.

I hope ND makes something new for their next game, but a TLoU sequel would be okay. I think the game ended so well it doesn't need a followup, but...they'll do what they want.

Jak and Dexter = Killed

Crash Bandicoot = Killed

It's usually a great thing, that Naughty dog jump off the bandwagon before these games start to become boring.

OP: I'm actually not that dissapointed that they're killing Uncharted, since this could give them some head room to make an awesome new IP or an amazing "The Last Of Us 2".

Sounds like he dies in Uncharted 4 because I doubt they will end the Uncharted Series, since its Sony's best franchise. Without it, what does Sony have to compete with Mario or Halo? They have franchises but nothing bigger then Uncharted under Sony's umbrella. Which is why they wont kill it off in my opinion. Uncharted will still be made just not with Nathan Drake.
