The Wii is performing more-or-less in line with John Lucas' prediction and time will ultimately vindicate him. Crazzyman's predictions were based on his personal preference for the PS3 and not based on any sales trends.

The wii is selling well enough to make 60 million by years end?

 Yes. The Wii still has not met demand and there will be a huge spike in sales next week. The momentum will be kept up by the releases of Mario Kart and Wii Fit throughout the slow months and then... Wii will be the hottest Christmas item for the third year in a row.

 Sixty milllion should be easily attainable by 12/31/08.

because John Lucas is always humble and polite

You just cant be rude to a gentleman like him, can you?

Now I have a question for you, leo-j.

You spend a lot of time on this site--more than many of us do, and certainly more than I do; you were around when Mr. Lucas made his Wii Fit prediction thread. How is it that you haven't noticed everybody who argued against John Lucas?

@leo-j

Please do. That way everyone will know that John Lucas and I were right.

@psrock

Yes. They have upped production several times and still have not met demand. Once a console is in the lead position.. it only builds as developers release more and more titles for that console. Its happened in nearly every generaton so far. The Wii has not even begun to reach its potential. The biggest Nintendo games last generation were Mario Kart and Smash Bros. Sales are only going to go up from here.

...

Always polite, yes, but I see John's posts as containing an odd (yet charming) mix of braggadocio and humility.

Can I quote your sig in my sig? 33 million max Wii's? Please. It's averaging over 250k a week, it'll hit that in another 35 weeks or so. And that doesn't include Christmas sales.  The others I can't disagree with, even if they don't agree with mine.

Saying (or at least implying it) that someone's prediction is illogical, no matter how illogical it may be (and 60 million is illogical, ince there's not enough production to get to that), is rather stupid when your own prediction is illogical in it's own sense.

I argue with Avanish all the time. Well it is not really an argument, it is usually him making some stupid remark and i point out that he is a moron.

John Lucas really isn't somone you can argue with. He makes his predictions and then more or less leaves it at that. Occasionally he will respond to clarify or explain a specific point, but will not desperatly attempt to disprove anyone who disagrees with him. Crazzy will use horribly flawed logic, bad and biased data, and out right lies or false claims to try and argue with anyone who disagrees. He will out right ignore any point he can't argue with, and do his best to quote you out of context while saying he is undeniably right. One of those people blatantly trolls and the other does not.

Avinash I think only gets away with it because there are not many people willing to put forth the effort to argue with him. He doesn't normally have to resort to twisting arguements and skewed data to support his inane arguement so he doesn't have to resort to troll methods as often.
