It's pretty funny how they do the teams when you join a friend. You would think you would be on the same team as your friend, but my brother and I are on opposite teams WAY more than on the same team, lol.
I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

No friend codes, just exchange NNID'S (mine is conegamer believe it or not) in the friends list of the main menu, then you can play away!
As for a community, not yet but come friend lobbies we will be making one. Have yet to see Rol play it actually...

If you're looking for friends to play with, I'd recommend you check out the NintenDomination thread. The second post has a lot of NNIDs you can add, or you can just ask around in the thread. A lot of people there already have Splatoon and would probably more than willing to have more VGC members to play with
