how can i join the cool kids then? do i need to ask for friend codes? what are they and how do i get them?

No friend codes, just exchange NNID'S (mine is conegamer believe it or not) in the friends list of the main menu, then you can play away! 

As for a community, not yet but come friend lobbies we will be making one. Have yet to see Rol play it actually...
