I'm not interested in Japanese games myself, but I'd think there will never be demand for them on Xbox unless they keep releasing them.

I got to ask something though, when people talk about Japanese games like jrpg, does it mean a game made in Japan or Japanese style? I don't care where they develope a game but I'm not a fan of mangaanime art style etc.

Generally speaking games made in Japan. There have been some good western games that take on the Japanese style Earthlock is a recent example of a Norwegian developer making a JRPG although most poeple will still say that it's not a JRPG as it wasn't developed in Japan but the entire concept and gameplay is that of a JRPG, Also an upcoming kickstarter game Edge of Eternity by a French studio is heavily inspired by JRPG's and looks to essentially be a JRPG.

What is this Valkyria game like? Like where does it fall in any time line?

I'll buy it on Xbox One. I'm sure Tiago is happy... somewhere (in Discord).

That was unexpected but really cool. Too bad it's not a traditional Valcyria Chronicles.

Also, the tears for the Xbox version in sites like gematsu and siliconera is hilarious.

Here's some gameplay.

I played all the Valkyria Chronicles games and they're amazing this one has different gameplay though.

I was asked for Christmas what I wanted and I'm having a hard time deciding between Battlefield 1 and Titanfall 2. Anyone play both of those games have a preference?

*Nvm I decided I want Watch Dogs 2 over both.

It's is a spinoff from the main series set during the Industrial Revolution. Uses a hybrid real-time and tactical combat system, kind of like FFXV with wait mode turned on.

And yes, Tiago is happy, lol. We've both been hoping that FFXV's recent success on XB1 (selling out almsot as fast as new copies can be restocked at several retailers) would start to convince JP publishers that an XB1 release is worth it for the extra profit, and then we see a totally unexpected port like this announced. I honestly wasn't expecting Valkyria at all, I'd say that of Sega's franchises, Persona or Yakuza would be a better fit for XB1 than Valkyria, but I'm really happy this is happening. Hopefully Sega is using this to test the waters so to speak, and will consider Persona and Yakuza for XB1 if Valkyria turns a profit.

I was watching the FFXV sales situation myself through Amazon and during it's first week it sold out of stock twice for a little over 24 hours before it was back in stock as well as you pointed out about the stock on the Microsoft Store and I've never seen it instock on there yet since launch, Whether it means good sales on X1 for FFXV or under estimated/shipped is another question but selling through its stock is definitely a good sign.

Out of all Sega's IP's Yakuza should really release on X1 it should sell quite well imo and appeal to quite a wide audience.

Yeah, it's hard to say rather FFXV's stock issues are due to high demand, poor stock, or a mixture of the two. But, even if it is poor stock, that means that XB1 sales are beating Square's expectations, which can only be a good thing in the long run imo. If FFXV on XB1 is exceeding Square's expectations, they might just reconsider the PS4 exclusivty for KH 1.5, 2.5 and 2.8 and FF12 HD, and they might consider FF7 Remake for XB1 (we already know it's a timed exclusive).

I agree, Yakuza probably has the most western appeal of Sega's current Japanese franchises (other than Sonic of course). Yakuza is fairly similar to Sleeping Dogs, which sold well on Xbox.

Yea there really isnt any reason for the KH remasters and FF12 remaster not to be on the X1 since hey won't be pushing the hardware to the max so there will be no need to reduced the specs for X1 and would be close to a straight up port and and I think FF7 remake is already planned for it just not announced due to timed exclusivity deal, 2017 could be the year that either makes the Xbox's Japanese support or completely shuts it off.

Also all the games you mentioned should have a good appeal towards the western/Xbox audience in general and apart from Persona they are not very animefied (That a word? lol) which I supose can discourage the masses who have no intrest in the anime style/culture of games.

Didn't sega actually tease something about PC announcments next year recently, As I said in a previous post I do wonder if the Xbox is becoming a more viable platform for them due to the UWP since they are porting to PC anyway might as well drop a X1 version, I think we will definitely see Persona, Yakuza and Valkyria revolution on PC next year and hopefully more games come the way of the X1 also.

Nice I already own 2 physical copies of Lost Odyssey and a copy of Blue Dragon but added it to my digital collection for disc less lazy mode :D

RWBY: GRIMM ECLIPSE is launching on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in early 2017!

I love this series!

I've seen this game before but I had no idea this was coming to Xbox. And it looks pretty good too!

Amazing games, would be nice to see a sequel
