Nice to see them put the new Valkyria game on the Xbox One in the west,I hope more developers follow to build a bigger fan base for Japanese games in general on the console as there definitely is one if developers provide the games.

Yea it's all down to the publishers really, I've always said there is a decent enough fanbase for Japanese games on Xbox whilst it will never be as big as the Nintendo or Sony side but enough to justify ports as they really require next to no time to do. The launch of FFXV is definitely a good time to try get more people into Japanese games and to build a momentum.

I hope the UWP may also create an easy route for Japanese developers to publish to Xbox One/Scorpio and PC as if they are going to put a game on PC which many previously console only developers have shown that they are over the last year or so they might as well optimise it through the UWP as it would provide a Xbox version in the process and then Just release the game on Xbox, Windows 10, Steam and PS4. Seems logical to me anyway.

I'm not interested in Japanese games myself, but I'd think there will never be demand for them on Xbox unless they keep releasing them.

I got to ask something though, when people talk about Japanese games like jrpg, does it mean a game made in Japan or Japanese style? I don't care where they develope a game but I'm not a fan of mangaanime art style etc.
