But as a base version owner, I won't get locked out by a season pass and will always be able to play horde mode without shelling out for more maps? The reason I'm asking is because I got locked out of Gears 2 after they made it so the all fronts pack was required.

Yes, you'll be able to play everything in public playlists just fine. The Ultimate Edition is really just there to give people constant access to all the maps they release for private lobies and such. Also, if one of your friends has that access and invites you that's not a problem either if you don't own the maps yourself.

Thanks for the clarification! I was trying to figure out what was going on with that. Keeping the user base together is awesome business. Now I can look forward to launch day without worry.

'Gears of War' Movie in the Works at Universal

Universal Pictures has optioned the movie rights to Gears of War, the landmark video game from Microsoft.

Scott Stuber and Dylan Clark will produce the adaptation via their Universal-based production company, Bluegrass Films.

Gears is one of the most popular series in the video game industry, becoming an instant sensation when it burst onto the scene from Epic Games in 2006, setting sales records, winning awards and creating a billion-dollar franchise. In fact, Microsoft touts that the game has 45 million unique users, has sold 27 million copies and has been played 2.3 billion hours, all the while racking up 510 awards and nominations.

Hollywood has tried to adapt the game since it was first released. New Line spent several years developing one iteration that had Len Wiseman on board to direct and Chris Morgan writing the script. The rights lapsed and it lay dormant for a few years. Stuber became attached to the project as a producer in 2013.

No writer is on board this incarnation. Yet.

Executive vp of production Jon Mone will oversee Gears of War for Universal, while senior vp Jay Ireland will oversee the project for Bluegrass.

Stuber was a producer on Central Intelligence, the Dwayne Johnson-Kevin Hart comedy that grossed over $127 million domestically ($216 million worldwide) this summer. Clark is a producer on the well-regarded Planet of the Apes movie series, with the latest installment, War for the Planet of the Apes, set to hit theaters next summer.

Just a little more information.

Nice to see a Gears movie in development.

So about 5 million more copies of Gears were sold between January 2014 and September 2016? Nice!

Proud to be a Californian.

If anyone wants to play some co-op on far cry 4, let me know

Just a little more information.

Dave Bautista is the only well known actor that can pull off Marcus Fenix I hope that they consider him.
