It's not just about software sales, it's about hardware sales, getting Xbox into the hands of people that wouldn't normally get it. Having a Japanese dev pumping out 2nd party games would certainly sell consoles not only in Japan, but also to eastern fans of JP games (and there are quite alot of them).

ReCore is a Comcept game. Remember that hardware sales were influenced by 2013 events not because of Japanese dev support.

Majority of hardware sales come from people that are swayed by buzzwords and popular games not the opposite. WiiU has tons of Japanese games pumped into it since 2012.

The way I see it, the Scorpio might have options that allow you to mess with settings, whereas the XONE will be stuck on something decent like 720-900p and 30-60FPS...

I think the Horizon games are fine with the 2 years cycle (maybe they could be even bigger but still good enough) but Turn 10 can really need 3 years for the Forza Motorsport games.
