sources?

Bet with Intrinsic:

The Switch will outsell 3DS (based on VGchartz numbers), according to me, while Intrinsic thinks the opposite will hold true. One month avatar control for the loser's avatar.

There is a rumor Microsoft is buying a mid-size studio that worked on previous games for Sony. I don't think it is Insomniac, but I believe it is Housemarque. Creators of Resogun, Super Stardust, Alienation, Nex Machina. A great pick up, because they can make games every 2-3 years which is good for xbox game pass.

He never said anything about it being a new ip. It could even be Voodoo Vince, a beloved game of Phil Spencer.

Voodoo Vince remaster didn't release in 2014 though. Saying "a game you probably played in the last 4 years" suggests it is a game that released 4 years ago, in 2014.

Klobrille likes being vague so i don't think he literally means 4 years ago because as you said not much released that year. my guesses are Recore, Phantom Dust, Voodoo Vince or KI although i can't really know what qualifies as beloved for him.

The game is probably Sunset 2, at least I hope it is.

Not going to lie, MS didn't have much of a hand in respect to all the 3rd party HW bundles. Outside the generic sports ones, virtually all the other major S/X bundles are of games that could be considered among the worst in their respective series: F76, BFV, and Shadow of TR. I haven't gotten to Shadow yet but V is such a step down from BF1 in respect to MP.

Yeah, they had awful luck with their marketing deal choices this year. It definitely cost them, 2018 was up over 2017 from January to October, but in November all of that YoY lead was lost. The poor pricing isn't helping either, the Black Friday/Cyber Monday deals were actually better last year for XB1 S than they were this year, and now in December XB1S is going for $250, much too high to have any momentum. It's looking like 2018 might be XB1's smallest full year of sales yet thanks to the poor bundles and poor Holiday pricing.

Well in November xbox sold over 800k 2nd week last year because of the X. It makes sense that it is going to be down yoy for that month.

Shadow of the Tomb Raider is actually just as good as Rise. And it's still at like 82 metacritic, so I don't think that was too worrying. In the US and UK at least is debuted much better than Rise.

The other two? Yeah, awful choices. But I mean, MS always has marketing with every Battlefield and BGS game for a LONG time. And by chance this year they both turned out to be duds. Sony on the other hand had Black Ops 4 and Red Dead 2, probably the top two bestselling games of the year.

edit: Microsoft should've went with Assassins Creed, just like they did last year. That would've done numbers.
