Unless he gets verified, i don't believe any of this.

He's the first to leak Playground acquisition via the public domain records so I assume he's found something else too.

Still as always, It's a rumour until it's been confirmed

The Playground thing was, like you said, available to see through public domain records. But everything he says now requires insider knowledge so i'm very sceptical.

anyway, pre-E3 crazy rumors and fake leaks are half the fun.

No I mean, he's also getting the USA and Canada stuff from public domain records too, he just hasn't said where, I'd try find it myself but it'd likely take me hours xD

his also talking about DMCV timed exclusivity which i doubt is available in any public domain records.

Well, Shit! Looks like Microsoft may have purchased Playground Games!

We'd be at...

  1. 343 Industries (Halo).
  2. The Coalition (Gears of War).
  3. Turn 10 (Motorsport).
  4. Rare (Sea of Thieves/New IP).
  5. Mojang (Minecraft).
  6. Playground Games (Horizon/Fable).
  7. Santa Monica (New AAA IP).

I was not expecting Fable to be at E3 actually but if it does turn out true that they bought PG I think they will likely show their investment at E3 and mention they are working on Fable with a Fable logo and probably nothing more I guess maybe a 20-30 second voice with a black screen going into the Fable logo at most but I don't expect any gameplay or CGI trailers at this point in time.

He says that he reads public financial records for Japan as well. Maybe he found something in those records that suggested that MS was sending Capcom money for something? Of course it doesn't necessarily mean it's for DMC 5, that's probably speculation on his part based on the timing, considering DMC 5 is expected to be announced at E3 one way or another. It could be an entirely different game. I remember a few weeks ago the official E3 website had a listing under Capcom for an Action/Adventure game for XB1/PC/Switch, but no PS4. I can't imagine that MS would pay to keep DMC 5 off of PS4 but allow it on Switch.

Dead Rising 5 seems more likely than DMC5.

How certain is it that Playground is making Fable? I´ve heard rumours but has it been confirmed?

If you have time, no clip made a documentary about Bethesda retrospective and next week they will have a documentary about Fallout 76 development.

We didn't do this in a long time. In March as far I could see. Thought I would revive it since I just finished the base game of Gems of War and deleted it from my harddrive (finally). Also decided to increase my list to 15 as there were too many F2P games on it lol. In case you don't remember it, Exophase.com is the site where you can easily sort your games by hours played.

Dragon Age Inquisition 85.00 hours
Gems of War 79.30 hours (+ 32.75)
Battle Islands
75.47 hours
Project Spark
72.20 hours (+ 0.15)
Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition
53.00 hours
Clicker Heroes
40.73 hours (+ 40.73)
Fallout Shelter 38.72 hours
Forza Horizon 2 38.67 hours
Assassin's Creed Unity 38.12 hours
Far Cry 4 37.17 hours
Battle Ages 33.12 hours
The Crew 30.77 hours
Far Cry Primal 29.50 hours
Watch Dogs 27.12 hours
Prison Architect Xbox One Edition 26.10 hours (+ 26.10)

As mentioned in the quoted post above, Lies of Astaroth is missing from the list but sadly it's not tracking time.

Gems of War received new DLC so I played a bit of that and then realized that I wasn't too far away from level 100, so I kept on playing. Nevertheless I'm shocked that I added more than 30 hours to the total.

When I got my Kinect a few months ago, I fired up Project Spark again to get a Kinect related achievement.

Shortly after the last time we did this, I started the F2P game Clicker Heroes and wasted another 40 hours....

Prison Architect is the only game I played recently on this list that wasn't a waste of time.

Took me ages to find that post. Thought it would be time for another update. As always, Exophase.com will easily show you what you need.

Xbox One only (no Windows 10 as that would add even more garbage games)

Dragon Age Inquisition 85.00 hours
Gems of War 83.25 hours (+ 3.95)
Battle Islands 75.47 hours
Project Spark 72.20 hours
Fallout Shelter 70.98 hours (+ 32.26)
Divinity: Original Sin - Enhanced Edition 53.00 hours
Clicker Heroes 40.73 hours
Battle Ages 40.23 hours (+ 7.11)
Forza Horizon 2 38.67 hours
Assassin's Creed Unity 38.12 hours
Far Cry 4 37.17 hours
Watch Dogs 33.75 hours (+ 6.63)
The Crew 30.77 hours
Far Cry Primal 29.50 hours
Rayman Legends
26.90 hours (+ 26.90)

New Gems of War DLC, so I played a bit further. Still going for one achievement that I should unlock tomorrow. Everything else is unreachable for me. Would take many many more hours.

Fallout Shelter for 1000G completion.

Battle Ages also saw an update that added 2 more achievements. Got one thus far and working on the other. Should get it within the next 3 or 4 weeks.

For Watch Dogs, I finished the Bad Blood DLC and got some random achievements in the base game.

Rayman Legends is the only new game on the list, replacing Prison Architect. One of the achievements just took way longer than I expected. Otherwise it wouldn't be anywhere near the top.

I don't expect that much to change til end of the year. Fallout 4 will hopefully join the list once I get my Xbox One X (yeah I still don't have it....). Forza Horizon 3 could join the list as well, just need to buy it first....

So, he was banned for not providing enough information for his "USA and Canadian" studio comment but that Playground one we can see is legit. However another insider and ResetEra moderator just replied to the same comment saying "More" What a wild ride So maybe he's right still but he just didn't share enough.

At the very least we know: San Diego Studio & Playground Games.

Possibly an Avatar Studio dedicated to making Avatar games.

https://resetera.com/posts/8747882/

It's been a wild day over on Era, lol.

Matt is trustworthy afaik, so him saying MS has more than 4 new studios is a good thing for sure. Nice to see MS investing big into first party for next gen.

More than 4! Does Playground count as 1? The other has to be the Avatar Studio. I can honestly see them buy the Dead Rising IP and Vancouver Studio from Capcom, I hope that Undead Labs isn't one of them they don't need to if they have them on lock with a 2nd party deal.

1. Playground Games

2. MS Santa Monica

3. Avatar Studio

That would be great, but I won't buy the game until it's fully complete and all the Episodes gave been released.
