Their marketing is fine. Their initial actions in the beginning of the generation ( last gen) told the story of how much they had to do to even be competitive with Sony. Sony is the most popular brand in the world. Its not easy taking them out and Sony kind of helped them with their initial price point as well as them having a headstart to boot. Notice how Sony and Microsoft are delivering pretty much the same games but Sony launched better than they did last gen?

Ha I suppose that could be true as well, but it's also possible btb will have cutoff versions of warZone maps, and forge maps. We will see tho. It's gunna be crazy amount of content either way. I bet ea is scared of comparisons of content.

Nah, 343 confirmed that they're designing special maps just for BTB, they said they won't be modified versions of other maps.

If that's the case it won't be many. 0 at launch. 6 of the 15 will be warZone so of the other 9 u gotta think 5-6 will be arena. So that leaves 3-4 for btb.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

Kind of sad that I have seen more TV ads for Elder Scrolls Online for Xbox than I have for Witcher 3 before it launched.

Didn't know there was Witcher 3 ads never saw any here in the UK

Star Wars Battlefront for me. Its the only game from that list I will probably buy.

No it isn't.

Playstation is the most popular console brand in the world, but Nintendo is probably the most popular gaming brand. And Sony is far from being the most popular brand in the world. That position would easily go to Apple. I don't think Sony is even in the top 50 top brands in the world.

EDIT: According to Forbes, Apple is first with a massive brand value of $145bn, MS is in second place but far behind with a value of $69bn, and Sony is in 79th place with a brand value of 6.9bn which 10 times smaller than MS. Interesting to note that Sony spends more on marketing than MS

Apple is the #1 brand in the world.  Microsoft is #2.  Sony is #79.  Just after Porche and right before FedEx.  See for yourself:

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.

Top 50 'most fun' game list coming soon!

Tell me a funny joke!

It's kinda funny because I saw a The Witcher 3 for XBO ad on German TV and I never see XBO ads here^^

They definitely had the marketing deal but it seems that they only invested a little bit for it which sucks. No idea what's going on, I don't think that MS won't invest much in marketing for games like Halo but maybe they got cut the budget for third-party games.

It's also interesting how Sony does this gen exactly what PS fans always compalined about last gen, they throw money on all the big third-party games to get DLC first, to take stuff away from XB and so on...I mean, common Sony, didn't Sony fans always say they hate this?

I think they spent all their budget for the year on the Tomb Raider timed exclusivity. And if it is for 1 year like it's rumored, I think MS would have paid at least $50m for that.

Im not talking about brands as a company, I am talking about their gaming branch. A good day for Sony has always been a bad day for their competition since they got in the gaming industry. It took Nintendo god knows how many years to sell 100 million consoles with the Wii (something that cannot be duplicated because of the risk and scarcity of continued demand). Sony did what it took Nintnendo forever to do in their first gen and they exceeded that to a number many dont think will be surpassed anytime soon.

Let this sink in. Sony was in third place (or possibly even tied at this point with MIcrosoft). They've sold over 80 million consoles while being in third place. 80  million+. Lets see Microsoft go into second and do that this gen. Just saying.
