Yeah, I was really surprised they showed gameplay. I was only expecting a CGI teaser. Maybe they should have done a teaser though, I've seen alot of people complaining about the Gears 4 gameplay. "The gameplay looks the same as the previous games, what's new?", "the new characters are boring", and "I was expecting better graphics". Nevermind the fact that it's pre-alpha gameplay for a game that won't release for 17 more months. Some people smh.


Ya I don't get that at all. I was very happy with it. Looked like Gears in terms of gameplay and pace (last I checked that's what Gears fans wanted). They brought it back to it's darker roots of the first game, which I was really hoping they'd do. There was a cool new enemy type. And despite it being a year and a half out I think it looked very good visually, especially the first half where they're walking through these ruins in the moonlight and there's a bunch of leaves blowing through air past them. They set the scene really well.

Maybe they'll do one for Tomb Raider.

I like it and I'm a Forza fan but I think I prefer to get a Halo 5 special console.

Yeah, personally I liked the new characters, they actually made me want to try Gears again when I already tried Gears and didn't like it. It seemed to me like the new characters were more relatable than the old characters are. Besides, people are acting like new characters mean the old characters won't return, chances are there will be two seperate teams, one with new characters, one with old characters, much like Halo 5.

The gameplay did look kind of meh to me, but that's because I'm not a big fan of cover shooters like Gears. Not sure why Gears fans were complaining about the fact that the gameplay looked the same as the previous games, shouldn't that be a good thing to fans?

I thought the graphics looked just fine, they didn't exactly blow me away like Horizon's graphics on PS4, but PS4 is more powerful than XB1, and there's the fact that Horizon has been in development for 4 years, while Gears has only been in development for 17 months. Gears has 17 more months of development ahead of it, graphics should be pretty great at release.

I also like the characters JD and Kait as well and I dont judge them because of this gameplay. But I hope Delta Squad returns.

I like the gameplay especially that we are back to using the D-pad to switch weapons rather than using the Y button in Judgement but I admit that a few parts in the gameplay seem to drag on after they both escape the storm and entered to building and I was a little let down that they showed the new creatures, the Pouncers, as the enemy in the demos I would rather let them fight locust OR at least fight human-like enemies in the gameplay. Nonetheless I gave it an 8/10.

The only thing holding me from buying it is that I have six or more games waiting for me to play on Xbox One.

How in the world have I missed Scalebound all the time?  It looks like it could be an amzing game.



 

Really not sure I see any point of Consol over PC's since Kinect, Wii and other alternative ways to play have been abandoned.
