Getting the "my opinion is fact" vibe pretty hard in this thread...

I guess to some Bloodbourne just erases the lackluster first party ps4 output so far this gen. I mean even the sony exec admits the games are sparse and the ones that have released haven't been the best received.

Arguably, both the Xbox One and the WiiU have better games than the PS4, and yet they are being beaten (almost combined) in global sales.

Sony has won over the trust of gamers last gen, their exclusive games over the course of the generation blew away Microsofts imo, especially at the end.  Also Wii U has the weakest library out of the three, idk why people act like third parties don't count.

You don't buy a console at the beginning of the generation just for the games out then, you buy it for what the console will be by the end of the generation.

Super Mario 3D World, Super Smash Bros, Mario Kart 8, Bayonetta 2, Pikmin 3, Donkey Kong Country, Shovelknight, Rayman Legends, Splatoon, Shantae, Monster Hunter, Zombii U. I still think Wii U has the best library, even when you include 3rd parties.

I'm not saying you're wrong in disagreeing. It's all very subjective, and depends on what genres you like and how you value quality vs quantity. I'd rather have 4 incredible games then 14 good. The only PS4/Xbox One game I truly hate not being able to right now is the Witcher 3. (And Dragon Age if we neglect last gen version because I do own it on 360).

It's true that people buy a console for what they will be, that goes for all 3 companies. However I think only a relatively small percentage of us are 'core' gamers so to say. Most people just want to play Fifa or CoD or GTA. Whether they buy a PS4 or a Xbox One, I don't think it has that much to do with overall quality of the library. More with what is considered cool, what do their friends own, what is cheapest, what is advertised better. The average consumer probably has very little idea what the highest rated/best games are.

Yeah, there have been over 100 new replies since the last time I checked, but hardly anything of substance.

From the title alone you could have know whats coming. Not claiming that my input was anything but opinion.

Yes, i do think that Microsoft has got some room to move here. Due to the PS4's huge sucess, Sony has been underestimating the competion and having a weak year in terms of exclusives. Also, i believe they will waste time with morpheus, wich is a lesson MS has already learned this gen with the kinect.
With Sony spreading thin, if we get a focus on games microsoft can start a road to recovery here. Of course, the road to recovery is a long one, just as we saw with the ps3.

If having great exclusive games was the only thing that mattered Wii U would be winning this gen.

I don't really see the edge MS has. MCC was the last exclusive released for the XOne & it couldn't crack a 90 Metacritic with all that content and lineage lol. Considering 2016 this list war is futile, RoTR will end up on the PS4, good chance TF will as TF2 is confirmed multi - plat. I mean if you only play games up until 2015 for the new generation you can disregard "the waiting" but by the end of 2016 it won't be close in sales or scores with the XOne & PS4.

Really? For me I guess it depends....14 good games might last me a lot longer than 4 incredible games....I can understand if you said 4 incredible and 14 medicore, but 14 good games just seems better to me I guess.

OT

Yeah MS did a good turn around...but imo game wise they really are not all that better than Sony...sure they have a better holiday line-up but I never understand why that seems to be the only focus....especially considering that they have not released anything since last holiday. It is like on the MS side they get a pass for not releasing anything all year because they are relasing Halo, Forza and a Gears collection around the Holidays. On the flip side Sony is releasing throughout the year and gets a pass onfrom the Sony side for not releasing anything during the holiday. Even though technically Sonys position is better because they are actually releasing games during the Holiday in Until Dawn, Tearaway, No Mans Sky, Disega, Persona 5(if it comes out). I guess because these are not "huge" triple A games they are ignored....I don't know.

Anyway both sides are pretty underwhleming at the moment, but both sides have some pretty good games depending on what you like....

The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

I firmly believe that from now until the generations end MS will gradually close thew gap to Sony, I mean by a few % a year at most market share wise not magically get to withing 1 mil of Sony.

I really do think that Sony's success is from the 2013 MS E3 and "I'm buying a PS4 because my friends got one wagon" and like the op states not for its games.
