Forums - Gaming - What are your unpopular gaming opinions?

Banjo has the worst character design I have ever seen.

PS controllers are uncomfortable and weird. - essentially line, circle, central line, circle, line. ew. I will not buy a PS console until they change the horrid controllers.
The X in the 4 PS shapes is annoying because it is the odd one out.

I used to love EA until they lost the rights to Lord of the Rings.

Mario spinoffs (other than kart) are stupid. Give other franchises a spinoff like Mario Tennis instead......or just make normal games like F Zero instead.

All of the Mario RPG's shouldn't exist.

Megaman IS NOT PART OF THE FOUR greatest gameining icons. Rayman is the 4th.

Kid Icarus is better than Starfox.

Metroid, Kid Icarus, Starfox should be the next top Ninty IP's right after the big 3 (Mario, poke, zelda) and Smash.

HANDHELDS MUST HAVE DUAL SCREENS NO MATTER WHAT.

I like 3D and use it 3/4 of the time, but wouldn't mind it being dropped.

GameCube was Not just a purple lunchbox............oh wait.

The diagonal 'cut' on the front of the PS4 is awkward and makes me feel awkward when I see it and I would like the console more if it was not diagonal.

Finallly, Melee is (when counting smash 3d as seperate installment so there's 5 smash games)  the 4th worst Smash game. Some of the compettitive players are behind the times and must leave it alone.

There. I have a lot.

Basically everything. Faster way of covering all the ground.

- A lot of Sonys first party is mismanaged, they are either given way too much freedom to do whatever they want (Japan Studios last gen for example) or are very underfunded (like I said Infamous could be way more if it wasn't so barebones, which would be the case if Sucker Punch had better resources), I do think most/all of those studios have way bigger potential though. In connection with that I also feel that only 3-4 out of 10 first party games making money for Sony isn't because they are willing to fund so many creative projects but because of said mismanagement and because Sony is lacking in higher ups that have an idea of what makes a game great, lack of marketing is a reason as well. Using Infamous as an example again, Second Son could have easily been past 3 million at retail at this point, would the game have just been meatier in content and while it is not a game from a first party studio and while the whole thing has already been talked about to death, that The Order 1886 launched the way it did, extremely short campaign and no multiplayer whatsoever, was an extremely poor decision as well.

- Sooner or later Nintendo will have to go the way of the third party

- I find it to a degree commendable that MS has their big first party studios on more of schedule, I don't think it's the perfect solution but I don't think Halo every 2 years is necessarily bad for example. Overall their existence in the console space still bugs me though.

I think GTA games and Zelda games are terribly boring.

Nintendo should go third party for the sake of all gamers.

Bayonetta 2 is the best game on Wii U atm.

From Software's best game still is Demon's Souls.

- I find Starwars, The Godfather and the original Mad Max trilogy boring because I knew every trope these highly influential movies created before I even started watching them.

So, you won't be playing the upcoming Mad Max game? :(

Mad Max -both the character and the franchise- were big precursors to the high testosterone action movies of the late 80s and early 90s; It's original idea's slowly became cliches with time. Fury Road, on the other hand, was a well structured movie that explored the themes and ideas of the original trilogy. It almost comes off as a deconstruction of the genre it took part in creating. I expect the developers of the Mad Max game to be as passionate in their project as the creators of Fury Road. I mean, how can this not translate well into a video game? We've certainly seen many iterations of it before.

OT: I adore postapocalyptic games.

Naughty Dog is way overrated

So is Telltale for that matter

Tomb Raider reboot > Uncharted

Heavy Rain was a bad game, plain and simple

Of all the Final Fantasy games I have played (7, 10, 12, 13) FF 13 was the best

Mario 3D World is an ok game at best

JRPGs died last gen because most of them were absolute crap on home consoles

Sony Japan Studio was making 40 games at some point. New boss from Santa Monica stopped this. And western studios dont get much support.

I agree. Console gaming is already crowded. Nintendo is stepping stones with their mobile partnership. Its still a far way off.

This gen MS did great with first party studios. Sony is forcing its studios to make graphically intensive games. MS doesnt need to and they are focusing on gameplay.

The two Zelda DS games are great games.
