We sold multiple millions of copies of Shift 2 while VGCharts were showing 180k sales. Ignore it is my advice."

A coment of Slighty Mad on the forums of Project Cars when asked about the Project Cars sales.

LOL

yeah Shift 2 always seemed to be very low compared to any other NFS game.

I think its a lame excuse, western devolopers cant be trusted at all these days. At least with Bloodstained igarashi doesnt want to dissapoint gamers and overpromising thats why there is no plans for a wiiu version yet unless it hits 3 million there might be a chance for a wiiu version.

Dude should maybe try to read accurately before making comments like this:

4 Need for Speed: Shift 2 Unleashed PS3 2011 Racing Electronic Arts 0.18 0.34 0.00 0.13 0.65
5 Need for Speed: Shift 2 Unleashed X360 2011 Racing Electronic Arts 0.18 0.21 0.00 0.04 0.43
9 Need for Speed: Shift 2 Unleashed PC 2011 Racing Electronic Arts 0.05 0.11 0.00 0.03 0.19

Add in digital sales, especially on PC and, heck why not, the IOS version and you're easily at "multiple million"

To be fair, he says they had already sold multiple million WHILE VGChartz WERE saying 180k, he doesn't say they are currently saying it sold 180k.

This is past tense, not present tense.

So he would be saying that the game sold multiple millions after 2 weeks essentially? That I find very doubtful, I mean I have no problem believing that the game is mistracked on here, but he really seems to be trying to oversell his game.

yeah i agree but still the wii u is more powerfull then xbox360 and ps3 and both got good looking racing sims. So they might have to remove some effects and co, but the game would still look pretty good compared to last gen games.Do you think mario kart 8 look bad btw?

I think we are already behind the time as games looked "bad". That was on wii.

Now its more like

wii u: game looks good

ps4: game looks better

pc: game looks best

But on none 8gen system a game will look bad /unplayable bad if made devent.

I think my biggest issue with this particular case is that these guys pretended to be supportive all along, they dismissed rumors of problems and doubts up until now, all along stating that the Wii U version was coming on time and doing nicely.

It would be better if they were just honest from the beginning, this makes them look like idiots and dishonest ones at that; I doubt that they only just now realized that they had stumbled across some challenges in producing the visuals they wanted on this particular platform.

I agree that one could easily make a good-looking racer like this on the Wii U; there really isn't anything preventing it if you have a clear structure and goal, it is a perfectly capable machine and certainly nowhere near the power gap between the Wii and PS3/360 in the 7th gen.

You are quoting full sales, he was talking about the initial period (in a later post he says that he stopped checking after 4 weeks).

That was a wise choice. Was just about to say, not going to report you, but you may want to reconsider the wording haha.

Real problem here is that they hope that Nintendo will announce new console at E3, and then they move project to new console.
Wii U version is currently on a hold because of that.

http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2015/05/project_cars_studio_boss_admits_to_problems_with_wii_u_version_hoping_for_nintendo_hardware_announcement_at_e3

he seems just as idiotic as the rest of the people online hoping for an announcement to happen even though Nintendo said they wouldn't this year. What do these people eat?

anyway this was expected and it is happening way too many times than it should. People should really just expect that anything with a WiiU stretch goal is just a way to milk the WiiU only owners of their cash to support they other versions and then come up with excuses that it can't handle it even thought they could just downgrade it

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

If they don't release this on the Wii U, there needs to be a serious backlash by net-savvy gamers. This project was backed for Wii U - there is no reason that they can't tailor the experience to run on the console.

Yes, it's less powerful than the PS4 and XBO, but many of my Wii U games sport the most attractive graphics of the gen (vs. my PS4 collection). The key here is OPTIMIZATION. If a developer is not ready to take some extra steps to make the Wii U work, they shouldn't promise a Wii U version.

It seems like the Wii U stretch goal is a common Kickstarter incentive these days. It's not fair to the backers who get on board later (because of that added goal), to simply fail to deliver on that. Promise something other than a Wii U release if you're not ready to go the extra mile.
