Remember when project cars was being touted as the third party savior of the wii u?

Good to know your worries. But this is a thread about Project CARS canceled. Not Wii U lack of retail games.

Proceed this question here

Exactly, another game that will be skipping the Wii U. Which makes my question pertinent on this thread.

No, your post clearly was mean't to try and derial the thread and say the Wii u has no games. I redirected you to a thread about what you are going for.

Wii U having 2 retail releases earlier this year and this game probably not coming don't corelate to each other. maybe if you said something along the lines of Wii U lost another third party game. But you clearly were trying to take a cheap shot.

Wasn't Project Cars at one point supposed to be the game that proves that Wii U owners do in fact buy third party games on their system?

Several other games prove it since the console's launch, unless you live under a rock or use hater ignorance.

did you even read what I said. Wii u owners skip a lot of there games since they run like shit on wii u and ate missing content and dlc wii u. That's why sales are shit. Third party companies are expected to make compelling software on wii u and they aren't. But some owners want them to and want to play 3rd party on wii u. But not everyone has $400 just lying around the house.

Porting from last gen is not that hard. Next gen will need to reworked.

The poor performance can be in part because of a horrible and strange architecture. Developers aren't going to spend 1 year porting a day and trying to optimize it, only for you guys to trash it and say it runs horrible. And the Wii U is 299, XB1 is 350. XB1 is 3-4 times more powerful, and has lots of 3rd party support. The Wii U is running last gen hardware, and has almost nonexistant 3rd party support. So I don't think price is an issue here.

So much stupidity.

"And the Wii U is 299, XB1 is 350. XB1 is 3-4 times more powerful"

1. Wii U costs 299, the same as launch. xone costs 350 after major pricecuts. it doesn't take a genius to understand wii u could be sold for 249 without a bundled software and that soon the price will be cut to 249 with a game 9 (and possibly 199 without it).

2. xone only has twice the raw power of wii u. 0.6 tflops for wii u, 1.2 tflops for x1 and 1.8 tflops for ps4.

"The Wii U is running last gen hardware"

The first part of my post already explains how retarded that statement is.

Finally they have managed to come up with some convenient excuses. Took them long enough.

Lol. But if the game was canned for the 360 and PS3, its trouble for the Wii U.

Only idiots would think so, since the wii u is much more powerful than ps360.

the wii us gflops are just estimated. its impossible to give accurate numbers but it should be something between 350 and 450 gflops.

intel hd 4400
http://www.heise.de/newsticker/meldung/Intels-Broadwell-Grafik-Schneller-und-effizienter-Angriff-auf-AMD-2390225.html
website is german though.

"HD Graphics 4400 hat nur 20 EUs, die aber mit 1100 MHz laufen und 352 GFlops packen – allerdings liegt dessen TDP bei 15 Watt."

The wikipedia thing is meant to all the gpus, the most powerfull is 432 gflops. not the 4400

The wii u gpu (radeon part) is either 176 or 352 gflops according to the strip down however there is also the original wii gpu in there and other elements to support wii compatibility. The fact is the wii u gpu is on a cheap 40 or 45nm fabrication process but is not consuming enough power to be 352 gflops so its highly likely to be 176 gflops but that still means its far superior to the 360 as there are many generations of improvement, improved feature set and 32MB of blisteringly fast memory available. Whatever it is 176 or 352 gflops no one is claiming the wii u gpu isn't superior to ps3 and 360.

The big issue is the cpu, we know its a triple cpu identical to the original wii cpu but running at 1.25ghz. It's a basic 32bit risc processor from the last century and doesn't compete in performance with 360 or ps3 because those consoles while having slightly less performance by mhz run their cpu's at 3.2ghz not 1.25ghz and so its an easy win for them.

That brings me around nicely to my final point and that is Project Cars is clearly a racing game with very high cpu requirements because they are taking car simulation to a higher level. This is where the wii u is poor. You can't just downgrade the wii u's graphics to 480p and sort it because the wii u simply hasn't got the cpu resources to run the game. It seems likely to me that the wii u gpu is probably fit for purpose but the cpu can't cope. The ps3 and 360 probably can't run it due to memory requirements and the wii u can't because of cpu requirements.

The wii u version may have happened if they hadn't abandoned the ps3 and 360 versions. Then all 3 powerpc consoles could have justified development. Yes it would have been simplified to the weakest part of each console but it could still have been a enjoyable title for those 3 consoles.

It never made any commercial sense to just release it on wii u in addition to all the x86 versions.

Idiot. Even specialists could just say the wii u gpu has similarities with many others. that 176-350 gflops is just the power of those "other" gpus that had similarities. haters like you simply say wii u uses one of those, when the console USES A HIGHLY CUSTOMIZED GPGPU. and considering the performance of wii u games (our only real source for wii u's power), it must be equivalent to 0.5-0.6 tflops.

"The big issue is the cpu, we know its a triple cpu identical to the original wii cpu but running at 1.25ghz. MY GOD, YOU ARE SUCH A CRAZY HATER. what kind of idiot would dare say that the wii u cpu is THE SAME than the wii/gc? do you know what BASED means? the cpu is based on the previous, just like windows 8 is based on 7 and so on. The cpu is much better than the one on the x360. the ps360 is mostly a cpu console, so it's cpu is better than even the ones at ps4 and x1. besides that, the wii u features a gpgpu, meaning the gpu can handle some cpu tasks.

Try and stop being a hater after this owned.

Only the truly special believed that.

You where flaming, and now you're banned. Anyway the Wii U is underpowered, whether you like it or not. Its comparable to last gen hardware.

Why are they even trying to bring this too Wii U? Might as well port it to PS3 and 360 since they're same gen/power levels.

Trying to port a PS4 game to Wii U is just laughable, those devs will need to downgrade it to sub-hd if they want it to run at 30 fps.

I wonder what people is playing on the Wii U...

There have only been TWO RETAIL releases on this year, a party game and a Kirby platformer which flopped horribly saleswise, so i dont understand what are the Wii U users doing with their consoles.

I can't speak for everyone, but I bought a Wii U this year and I have been playing lot's of virtual console RPG games from the SNES era that were from before my gaming days.  At the end of the week I will be playing Splatoon.  I am also highly anticipating Mario Maker, Yoshi's Woolly World and if there is a Paper Mario game for the Wii U that would make my year!  As a person who works full time and can really only game on weekends I can say that there is more coming this year on the Wii U than I will probably have time to play.

I would probably only buy Project Cars to support third party development on the Wii U.  The realistic graphics would probably get boring for me after about 10 minutes so a game like that would need to have a calliber of gameplay similar to Mario Kart to keep me interested.
