I own Mario Kart 8. I actually like it. I even like the look. But it is not an impressive game. It 'just' a nice, warm comiclook.
I even like Pikmin 3. Though most of the time it looks like a Wii game played with Dolphin.
Those like other U games from Nintendo are very well designed, They are at no point impressive in a technical way though.

well i cant share this opinion but okay.

just check this video:

even with dolphin in 1080p and aa the wii version wouldnt look anything near mario kart 8. The differences between ps3 and ps4 games are much smaller in my opinion.

Please read more careful. I said Pikmin 3 often looks like a Wii game played with Dolphin.

Mario Kart 8 always looks nice. Yes. But not impressive. Now don't mix design and artstyle with technical stuff. Where's real environment mapping or example? Even Neo Bowser City seems to use a simple texture trick and no environment mapping.

MK8 uses nice lighting and post processing effects. It still is simple in many ways. Now that isn't a bad thing for comic fun racers.

ah ur right, i never palyed pikmen 3 though.

I dont care about the technical stuff and co. I just care about how it looks - if i like it or not^^

So NX already has more 3rd party support than the next gen consoles of Playstation and Xbox combined. How is this bad news?

Which is ok. But there is much more going on with some realisitic though maybe boring next gen games than with Mario Kart. Which i like as i said.

And then theres all the not so visible stuff like much more complex physics for much more cars.

So Project CARS U might be much more demanding even with 20fps than Mario Kart is with 60fps. Not to talk about PS4One exclusive games.

By the way, i Ryse looks boring to me, Its's a technical showpiece though.

I would assume that NX is stronger than PS4. So it's gonna be a better running and looking game most likely with all DLC included. Totally sounds like a crappy port.

this just shows how bad the game developers are.

Mario kart 8 runs 720p60
needforspeed runs 720p30
many similar racing games runs on 360.

If they cant make the game run on wii u they probl dont want to try at all. You can expect that they maybe invest like 1 month work in the wii u version at all.

1. Mariokart 8 follows a simple artstyle. Not much is going there. Plus the game isnt that good looking.

2. Game like project cars aka "realistic" games have lots of complex things going on. It needs a lot of processing power. Plus the weather system or other things needs a lot of work.

As for mariokart 8 digital foundy report It runs at super smooth 60 fps. But has no anti alising. Just look at the jaggies and textures.

So what's going to happen to those who backed the game for the WiiU version?

My guess is that they can ask for a PS4 or XOne version instead.

They should be able to ask for a refund.

1.
SMS didn't get 'all their money' from Nintendo fans but most feedback to a stupid survey. Meaning actually nothing.
It's like when we had a 'best game eva' election on our site and all Shenmue fans worldwide voted for Shenmue. No Zelda- Halo or CoD-fan from outside even noticed it.
Most PCars backers AFAIK came from the PC-corner.
2. That game was announced for PS360 as well. Both couldn't really handle it because of lack of feature level..
3. Got a Wii U and actually like it. But Nintendo put way to less CPU power in it. That is something we've had over and over again.
The GPU is basically DX11 like feature level, but by far not as GPGPU optimized like GCN. As well it actually isn't a beast.

Yes, SMS promised a Wii U version. No, 99.5% of possible Project CARS owners wont give a shit ever, no intent to annoy anone, basically that is a fact.
Yes, Wii U will get one third party game less, so there's Just Dance, one other LEGO and some licensed shovelware.
No, this is not 'all lazy devs fault'. That is basically Nintendos fault. Because they made many, many wrong decisions from the start. That is basically Nintendo fanbase fault. Buying some virtual console stuff over and over and over again instead of investing in indies and thirds.

SMS' fault is some marketing BS talk. They should have said 'Wii U version looks great in still pictures' or something like that.

"We can be jerks who take back promises because only a few people will be affected"

Yeah! SCREW the little guy? Who cares about HIS voice?

Also:

>Promise to make a game

>Say it's coming along nicely for years

>Finally just say it's gonna be cancelled

Yep. All Nintendo's fault

Not to mention the indie scene on Nintendo is really big. Come on, now. You think so much indie games come to Wii U to lose money?

i dont understand Nintendo strategy here "development will probably shift to Nintendo’s next home console"

thats implying that wiiu successor is coming soon

What it really implies is that their next console will again, be vastly underpowered.
