It's got to be last year. Nintendo were going in struggling and the news that they'd not be giving a traditional conference was ringing round the gaming world causing quite a stir. Cue the day and then on walked Iwata to fight Reggie and that really set the tone for the rest of the show. Splatoon came as a huge surprise to everyone and the ingenious Treehoue event created joy and intrigue for the rest of the week like never before.
I do desperately hope for a similar performance, because it was just amazing.
Treehouse Live was absolutely brilliant.
Easily the best thing about E3 last year. You could tell that Nintendo was confident about their games and didn't need anything other than the games to speak for themselves.
There's a reason why Microsoft will be adapting the Treehouse style format for their E3 experience this year.

But do they have the right people to do it? After all, Nintendo used their own people, guys that are used to work together and know what they are talking (and playing) about.
I don't think MSoft will succeed.
Please excuse my bad English.

This might not be the reason why they wont succed. I belive the xbox's library is to mondane to need a trehouse like event. People know halo, forza, fable and all thouse third party multyplats, we dont really need to see any gameplay or explanation to know what we are getting into. Unlike nintendo, Splatoon was a mistery and new and original, a demostration had to be made. Code name steam is wierd and knew. SMash is nothing knew, just better. Devils third is slighty a diferent take on a established genra. xenoblade, bayooneta and others.
It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

You may be right. But the success will not be based only on the games shown but how they do it.
MSoft could show and comment real gameplay of Crackdown and Scalebound, for example, so they have games that need to be shown. The problem is who will do it and how. Nintendo managed to do it in a very lightly fashion, like if the directors/producers of those games and the treehouse guys were friends or knew each other. It wasn't forced.
It's that feel that I don't see MSoft achieving it. I'm affraid it will be kind of awkward.

Smeagonator in the first option, you should have in parethensis next to Nintendo Revolution, wii, not all know the codename of wii!:P
I can say that my favorite E3 moment is E3 2005 with the revelation of wii,it was so revolutionar/innovative and such a huge & crazy success,I was very hyped after its teasing in 2004(from what I remember, lol) and the hype was justifiable!
I won't choose an E3 because of any great game (which I adored)disclosure, although I can choose E3 2006 which combines the presentation of the superior wii with the splendid and lovable super mario galaxy,so E3 2006!:p
/in reference to new poll/ Would have chosen 2004 E3 if it were available... that Twilight Princess reveal still gives me gooseys T_T. Though last years E3 really was impressive. Hopefully a repeat in terms of quality for this year .
I only watched two E3 presentations, and last year's was much better than 2013's.
