Treehouse Live was absolutely brilliant.

***

There's a reason why Microsoft will be adapting the Treehouse style format for their E3 experience this year.

But do they have the right people to do it? After all, Nintendo used their own people, guys that are used to work together and know what they are talking (and playing) about.

I don't think MSoft will succeed.

This might not be the reason why they wont succed. I belive the xbox's library is to mondane to need a trehouse like event. People know halo, forza, fable and all thouse third party multyplats, we dont really need to see any gameplay or explanation to know what we are getting into. Unlike nintendo, Splatoon was a mistery and new and original, a demostration had to be made. Code name steam is wierd and knew. SMash is nothing knew, just better. Devils third is slighty a diferent take on a established genra. xenoblade, bayooneta and others.

You may be right. But the success will not be based only on the games shown but how they do it.

MSoft could show and comment real gameplay of Crackdown and Scalebound, for example, so they have games that need to be shown. The problem is who will do it and how. Nintendo managed to do it in a very lightly fashion, like if the directors/producers of those games and the treehouse guys were friends or knew each other. It wasn't forced.

It's that feel that I don't see MSoft achieving it. I'm affraid it will be kind of awkward.
