At this point as a Wii U owner you should be aware, the only Retail games coming to the system are Nintendo, shovel ware, plus the annual releases of Skylanders, Disney Inifnity and Just Dance.

Don't really know why this is a surprise. We've known this for a long time.
If anything more retail Wii U titles have popped up recently than what we knew about last year (LEGO Dimensions, LEGO Jurassic Park).
its been in nintendo's history that games never get released within the first 2 months. sometimes 3. so far weve had Mario Party 10, Kirby and the Rainbow Curse, and Xenoblade in japan. this friday Splatoon is being released. so not a lot, but 3-4 games across their 2-3 month usual schedule is alright. E3 is bound to show off a ton of new releases, and we have a great line-up for the rest of the year already. im not concerned.

No, the first Metroid hint was at VGA 2013 with the Metroid pin. And no, Zelda is TBD, not 2016. Show me where Nintendo said Zelda is 2016. |
You have one hint from 2013. will I mentioned multiply reasons (most from previous year) why I think we will see Metroid at E3.
Last E3 Zelda was revelied with 2015. release date, few monts ago Aonuma said that 2015. is no longer number one priority, logical conclusion is that game is not coming in 2015. and that now is 2016. game.

Logical conclusion? Then why don't put in their schedule 2016 for Zelda?
Simply, is TBD, not 2016 and the game can be delayed to whatever date they want. 2018, 2050, 21536.

I already wrote, Nintendo always state TBD for games that not planning to release in current year.
If one game is set for 2015. release and its delayed, its logical that game will arrive next year, not 2018, 2020...especially if game is so important and in this case biggest game that left for Wii U. Also this isn't first (and last) Zelda that is delayed, and Zelda never was delayed for two years.
This all facts, but you expect if you want game in 2020.
jusy asking, what would be the releases for PS4/X1 with zero 3rd party support? I think Nintendo's doing all it can here, but its only this what they can do. Sony/Msft release chedule will be even worse if left for themselves. At least Nintendo is able to make good games themselves.

During 2014 Zelda was 2015 in the release schedule. So no, not always.
And as important and expensive as Zelda is, it can also be delayed to NX.

No it's not, in same schedule release for Wii U games last year, Zelda also was TBD, same as Yoshi, you have list down.
It can be, maybe it is, for one year (2015>2016), they certainly would not delayed Zelda for two years.
