Except parts of Nintendo's release plan could potentially have a negative impact on the longevity of the game. Map rotations for example are a terrible idea... There's very little reason to justify them and it only serves to further restrict the already limited content that exists.

i still havnt played enough to agree ot disagree to that.

Playing often the same map again dont have to be a bad thing.

I can just name Counter Strike Source as an example again. Everybody played 30 rounds on one map and mostly this map was Dust_2.

I have to admit that it maybe doesnt make much sense in splatoon (spexial on launch) scince your teammate are all random so you cant develop/use new tactics for each team you play the same map over and over again (like its possible in CSS on Dust2). But you can change your equipment and weapon related to the current available maps, so this could also be some sort of tactics.

I dont say your wrong, i just wouldnt jjudge about this mechanics before i tried them ;)

Hey, 81 +/- 2 is an above-average score this generation for a new IP, so that is satisfying. .

How many replies did The Order's thread get? Anyone know?

I see. The game is a 10 out of 10. Even if we can't review what's not there yet. Everyone having a different opinion only spit "irrelevent junk".

Am I doing it right?

What, having a meltdown? Yes!

Not at all. I figure I should just say what you want me to say and be done with it. Since there's really no point arguing this further with you.

And I take this comment of yours as confirmation of baiting. Thanks.

I think the decision to use a rotation system does emphasize playing the map instead of just playing the game (if that makes any sense), and especially when new maps are released, I think having the maps be randomly selected out of 15 options would make it much more difficult to master a map. This means that it would make it more difficult to learn and perfect each map and understand them intimately and instead focusing your attention on the more basic aspects of your play such as you skill when splatting and your movement.

@Hynad: I think I presented a fairly unique response to your discussion which got buried in the mix, if you want to go back a page or two and read it :P

A lot more (easily 500+). Your thread isn't comparable anyway because you already had a build-up with predictions.

True.

I just wanted to build on the comment someone made earlier. I don't think this thread will reach it since the score isn't nearly as controversial (nor is Nintendo's 1st party output).

Well, if they buy day one, they can read a day one review. And day one review deals with content available on day one.

This only makes any sense if they don't plan on playing the game anymore after day one. Day one buyers likely aren't as influenced by reviews anyway, and are you still implying everyone buys games day one?

I am not impying anything.

I am saying, for the tenth and final time, the day one review reviews day one content.

Just as is with every other game in existence.

Once the DLC is out, reviewers can then review that DLC and score it either separately or combined. If uou don't understand what I'm saying, check out Metacritic for games like Battlefield, CoD or even single player games like The Evil Within for example. They have review scores for the base game that shipped day one, and then they have reviews for DLCs.

So, when DLC hits, reviewers can actually review what they get, instead of guessing a month or three in advance. And then when people go out and buy Splatoon for Christmas, they can read reviews of all the content available at that moment.

A very simple concept, and I don't understand why it is so problematic.

Like I said the game is getting critisized for its lack of content.  It was stupid to release it for $35 in Europe and $60 in NA.

Should they release it for $30 and then charge $10 per new map?

That doesn't even make any sense...I think you completely missed the point.

Yeah but this will not happen with Splatoon, because that Dlc is all around the table, there is no way to score one map and some weapons/gear every week, and you can´t score new matchmaking options, also this dlc is free, so is not a product, and they are not going to score it. That´s a bit sad. But oh well, I guess they will inform the people about the new content that is being released, i hope...
