Forums - Gaming - Why do "Hackers" do it?

Why do developers and companies do reduce the value of their products by selling unfinished games. Do unethical things or cheat on their customers etc?

Because they can.

So simply do it because they can?

See the reason why developers and companies cut corners is to make something more profitable at the expense of the consumer. So the real reason is money for them.

  • Revenge
  • make security holes public so lazy companies fix them.
  • make the world a better place (just because the "attacked" company says the hackers are the bad guys does not mean they are)
  • being bored.
  • competition with other hackers

I mean why do hackers crack games? They want to improve themselves and want to see if they can do it.

The organizational thing is just a byproduct and sometimes kinda used to confuse the public/enemy.  You know like when there is a 1-man ebay company and he says "We try our best to do this and that" acting as a group/bigger company so they seem more reputable. etc

by the way a Distributed Denial of Service attack is NOT a hack. Its just accessing a website nonstop so it crashes under the load.

Either its hate, hobby, or glory

They're rebels who want to send a message.

With that said, their message sucks, and they need to stop NOW.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Because they have nothing else better to do. They're scum.

Dont judge a book by its cover.

Does it really matter? It's a sport. Blackhats have any number of reasons. But it's always personal gain, be it material or immaterial.

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Is it still down? i dont have PS+ to know but the store and the Trophies all work, yesterday i just couldnt upload records in MGS groundzeroes but everything else mentioned worked.
I think sony must have updated their PSN to seperate the MP from everything else

It was acting slow.

Sometimes they have decent reasons, but I bet mostly they're just insecure about themselves and want to show off either to themselves or other people, thinking no one will realize they're actually using automated software that requires very little skill to use. The term 'script kiddy' doesn't exist without a reason.
