See the reason why developers and companies cut corners is to make something more profitable at the expense of the consumer. So the real reason is money for them. |
- Revenge
- make security holes public so lazy companies fix them.
- make the world a better place (just because the "attacked" company says the hackers are the bad guys does not mean they are)
- being bored.
- competition with other hackers
I mean why do hackers crack games? They want to improve themselves and want to see if they can do it.
The organizational thing is just a byproduct and sometimes kinda used to confuse the public/enemy. You know like when there is a 1-man ebay company and he says "We try our best to do this and that" acting as a group/bigger company so they seem more reputable. etc
by the way a Distributed Denial of Service attack is NOT a hack. Its just accessing a website nonstop so it crashes under the load.
