I'm very excited that they pulled off such an optimization for consoles to allow The Witcher series to expand into new heights, but all signs point to a parity downgrade on PC. They haven't been showing anything, and what we've seen shows that the PC build isn't much better than consoles in terms of fidelity. Sure, it'll run with better framerate and slightly better features. However, this isn't what CDPR is known for.

Their PC versions always have insane visuals on the highest of settings. Now if this was a budget problem, then I wouldn't have minded as much if they were transparent about it. If it releases like the above image then it feels like a gigantic slap in the face to all those that upgraded cards (myself included) for the title.

Go on PC users, boycott the game and then The Witcher 4 will be console exclusive because you are just not worth it. Why don't you care about the 99% of PC gamers that don't have your elitist ideals and wealth to have graphics card that cost more than a console? They can't play the game like what you wish the game looked like. The PC version will still be better than consoles, will have upgrades in time and mods will make it look better even, but still will only be enjoyed by 1% of pc gamers. Just stop trying to justify the money you spent building your rig and accept that it was a waste of money for the most time and that 99% of the other pc gamers don't care for this unless they are delusional and think their rigs could play this game on Ultra.

It's exactly like those ultra real images of Crysis or Skyrim modded. Sure they are possible, but very few can actually play the game like that. Not all pcs are better or even close to PS4 or XBox One power, it is the truth. The optimization is also much more difficult in PC because of all configurations and OS overhead. If this polemic affects CD Projekt Red it means you elitists are louder than you should, not that they did a bad job or that the game is bad in any way.

That would be silly. Now i'm a little frustrated about the potential lack of insane visual options, but that's not a reason to boycott this. The game itself will no doubt be wonderful. All we need is more options so everyone  is happy. No need for this console vs PC war bullshit that we're seeing in this thread.

I wish CDPR would just come out in the next few days and just tell us what's going on, by Tue the answers are going to be expected.

CD Projekt can't afford to miss out on a ton of sales just to make a game that uses the full potential of a $2000 PC, or even a $1000 PC, because the vast majority of gamers have consoles or sub $600 gaming PC's. You can only scale a game but so much without building basically two different games, and CD Projekt funded Witcher 3 themselves, they had no financial backing from a big publisher.


Amen.  I guess this is what happens when a few (2%) decide to spend a lot of money building a powerful gaming rig instead of enough specs to run the game.  You have to  justify your investments somehow even if they are the minority.
