Latest comparison video ever?

Quite possibly.

I just posted it when they uploaded it to their youtube channel, no idea why it took them so long.

Can't remember any frame rate problems in hindsight. It seemed to run fine at the time of release. It's not a fast moving game anyway.

I loved the game when i got it a year ago, but now that i find out i habe been tricked into playing a technical inferior game all these positive feelings have turned to unrelenting hate.

“It appeared that there had even been demonstrations to thank Big Brother for raising the chocolate ration to twenty grams a week. And only yesterday, he reflected, it had been announced that the ration was to be reduced to twenty grams a week. Was it possible that they could swallow that, after only twenty-four hours? Yes, they swallowed it.”

- George Orwell, ‘1984’

Obviously the developer/publisher's fault. Though i'm pretty sure some idiot is going to hear this news and blame consoles.

What happened to the Wii U version?

Around the Network

I've just platinumed this last month, playing quite fiercely. I don't remember ever experiencing any slow downs, except for some explosion moments...which were present in the PS1 version as well, as I remember.

Other than that, game ran smooth as butter.

OP updated with full Digital Foundry analysis.

They blame the engine's dependence on single-threaded CPU performance for the poor framerate on PS4/Xbone.

Graphics are very nice on the game, but yeah there are some serious frame rate stutters in places which I really didn't expect from the PS4.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

Single threaded performance on the PS4 and X1? *winces*

Day one patch can solve this. But my question why day one patch? Technically they are releasing an unfinished game.

Its a digital game so I could be wrong, but day one patch essentially allows them to submit the game to XBL/PSN in its current state whilst working on the necessary improvements which will be ready on day one to download, the alternative is having the game release pushed back by a week or 2.
