Good. Disconnecting them for the online network isn't nearly enough. Especially since they should know better than anyone else how to reverse such measures.


If you like hacking and don't want your Xbox to be bricked, don't connect to Xbox Live in the first place. It's that simple.

I have friend who's had 3 PS3's bricked by Sony for jailbreaking/cheating/piracy. This is nothing new.

I think most console manufacturers can do it, and I think it is great if it because of leaks and such. I remember Sony doing something similar.

Bit extreme just to try surprise people at E3 with a game everyone already knows is coming yet they keep denying.

Then dont get caught breaking an nda that you signed.

I don't really see this that surprising, as the Nintendo Wii U and 3DS also could be bricked if they find illegal content on them

Not surprised seeing who the OP is... This has nothing to do with xbl, this has to do with an nda they signed that stated this will happen. This is the leakers fault not Microsofts

So glad I'm a PC gamer now. I remember reading some stuff about PS4 that made me regret going all digital. I'm still going all digital on PC but I know I paid for all my games so if something happens to my steam account I have no problem pirating everything that I had previously paid for and as far as I'm concerned that is my right could care less what the law says. On my PS4 I would have had to rebuy everything.

This is interesting. I've scanned the thread on this over at GAF and so far only found comments such as 'this is disgusting' or 'they deserve it.' It really is strange how nobody (as far as I can see) has actually thought: 'wait a minute ... MS can brick my XB1?'
