Forums - Nintendo - Has Nintendo given any evidence that E3 will be worth watching this year?

I believe 3DS users are covered, but WiiU fans may be left wanting more.

Around the Network

It's going to be a massive e3 for all 3.

They will try to repeat last years E3 success, so you can expect many new unannounced titles.

This post will largely focus on Wii U. I don't expect, though I'd love to be wrong, that 3DS will have a big E3.

Out of the games Nintendo covered at E3 last year, Hyrule Warriors, Bayonetta, Smash Brothers, Captain Toad, Mario Party 10, Kirby, Splatoon and Yoshi will have been released. Three of those were revealed during E3 itself.

That leaves Project Giant Robot, Project Guard, Star Fox, Mario Maker, Xenoblade Chronicles X and Devil's Third from last E3 unreleased, with Project Treasure and potentially Pokken Tournament featuring too. Nintendo released 8 Wii U exclusives between E3 2014 and E3 2015, so they could just stick with what they already have.

Personally, I'm hoping there's more coming. Project Giant Robot could yet launch in June, according to Nintendo's financial reports. Perhaps that will have been revamped and will be confirmed for a late June release, which would be a pleasant surprise. I'd expect more details on Smash and Splatoon DLC, including confirmation of some going live on the day of the conference, like Lucas for Smash or another map for Splatoon.

We should get an extensive look at Star Fox, and release dates for that, Xenoblade, Devil's Third and Project Guard. I'd hope they'd all be 2015. Mario Maker is coming September 2015, and we'll hear more about what Nintendo are planning for the Mario anniversary. Project Treasure I'm not sure of, I'm guessing 2016. Hopefully confirmation Pokken Tournament is coming to Wii U in 2016.

Even though Nintendo have more (9) exclusives ready to show compared to what they managed to launch in the last 12 months, I'm still hopeful we'll see three or maybe four reveals this E3. One of the four reveals will be something Mario related, perhaps a cross-platform compilation. I'd prefer Mario Galaxy Trilogy, 1+2 remastered, plus a third new game, but I don't think that's likely. I think we'll get one big internal title for 2015 (Animal Crossing most likely, F Zero outside bet) plus a Retro Studios project for 2016, maybe the other way round release date wise. Next Level might be doing something for Wii U too.

There are a lot of unknowns, but it depends how you view Nintendo's situation. Personally I expect there'll be more in the shape of DLC and spin-offs than there will huge reveals, but we might get one or two big games, with Animal Crossing and Metroid the likely contenders for a Wii U title. Zelda will not feature. We have to be realistic here: big games for Wii U are time consuming and expensive, and at least some of Nintendo's development resources will be moving to NX.

It really depends if you like their digital event and treehouse.

I'm perfectly fine with both, as I have not seen their conferences before, but I know some that still prefer having an actual conference over a digital event.

With that attitude, no, absolutely not. Stay away from it, you won't enjoy it no matter what they do.

I have not payed attention to vgames for a few months now and just wondered if it looks like we are getting anything good at this years E3?

Or is it not worth watching and getting excited over?

Did you watch Nintendo Direct from last month!?

At least half of stuffs from that direct easily could be on E3. It's clear that Nintendo have some better stuffs to show on E3.

Also I don't expect to see on E3 all games already shown on that Direct.

They evan told that Zelda will skip E3 (but I expect at least short trailer), they have to be relly cofident in other stafs for shoving when they can aford that biggest game skip bigest evant.

You know Ryan that it's Nintendo, capable of the best and the worst.

Their E3 shows are always a gamble.

None of them really have.

Pretty much this. There are interesting upcoming games for all 3 but what is E3 gonna give other than a few minutes of footage? Meh. I don't expect exciting new announcements from anyone

I do hope we see a bit of "running gameplay" of SMT x FE but other than that
