I just finished TLoZ: A Link Between Worlds in a week or less, and man was it amazing. I'm not too fond of Zelda, disliking most of the 3D games, but the 2D ones are a joy, and ALBW is fantastic. If reviewers thought SS was a "masterpiece", then ALBW must be the second AND third coming of jesus.
The open worldness was used in like no other game I've played or seen. It is really choose your own path and the consequences are on you. Rupees are actually useful, and while not difficult (didn't die once ((unless we cound fairy revival on the last boss)), I cut as much grass as I could to get both Rupees and Hearts. The dungeons are fantastic, all the items are useful (except bombs), there are secrets and collectibles everywhere; exploration and discovery is real, and the feeling of adventure was never missing.
All the NPCs had something interesting to say, and I felt connected/cared about who the sages were. The narrative was always entertaining, and the story is the best in any Zelda ever. Soundtrack is amazing. I can't think of a single bad thing in the game.
I would put it at the top in my best games on the 8th gen and very high on my favourite games ever list. It gives me false hope for Zelda U
Bet with bluedawgs: I say Switch will outsell PS4 in 2018, he says PS4 will outsell Switch. He's now permabanned, but the bet will remain in my sig.
