That makes me want a 3D Mario using an "8-bit" artstyle, if that makes any sense. Does it make any sense?

Yes, that would be really neat to have, though I would prefer that you can toggle between the two because the current HD Mario is already really nice

That was quick backpedaling. But it also reminds me of a good joke. What is the difference between you and Super Mario Maker? None. Both of you are tools. |
Some people are masochists.
Game, set and match.
| Samus Aran said: Except everyone hates it. The people buying SMM certainly won't be nostalgic for it and you'll see that for yourselves as most uploaded levels will be in a different graphical style. |
Clearly not if they sell very well each time, even more than 3D Mario games.
I actually have seen a lot of people that are going to use the NSMB style (even on this forum). I won't be one of those people though, since SMB3 is the style for me.

People don't just buy games for the graphics, otherwise they wouldn't even own a Wii U in the first place. The games would still sell well, probably even better, with a new, ambitious and gorgeous artstyle. I mean really, who would decide to NOT buy a 2D Mario game because it doesn't have that bland, generic style?
If people use the NSMB style it's probably because they want to use the physics or mechanics (like wall jumping) that are exclusive to that style.

Who said anything about graphics? That's not the point I was trying to make. I'm just saying that they clearly aren't hated by everyone because they sell, not that they wouldn't sell more if they looked better. That's a straw man.
I've seen people say that they just like the art style better. I'm not sure what's so wrong with that, lmfao.

Because I have never seen anyone say that. And they have bad taste if they did say that.

"I've never seen it so it hasn't happened." Is that your final argument?
I don't care about your second point, that's just an opinion.
