Awesome year for me!

I like the Pokemon series more overall but they only stated what was already obvious, so I gotta give it to Kirby. Crystal Shards was my first ever Kirby game so seeing them bringing back the ability to combine powers was just hype!

Ok, can I just say that whoever is doing the box art for Nintendo with the Switch needs a serious freaking pay raise. I mean dang, the box arts are awesome for so many games!

My favourite announcements were Metroid Prime 4, followed closely by Samus Returns, followed by Kingdom Battle. The first because I thought Nintendo had given up on Metroid, the second because it's a remake of the first Metroid game I played and (potentially) part of a great swan-song for 3DS, and the third because I had incredibly low expectations of a Mario/Rabbids mash-up.

I need to finish my PhD and get back into full-time work so I can buy a Switch.

So after checking out more gameplay and the Treehouse segments, I'm sold on Mario Rabbids now! There is indeed depth, variance, and progression to the combat. When I first saw it I thought it was just guns only, but there are plenty of melee options aswell. The exploration does look kinda shallow still, but otherwise the game is solid, so I'll be buying it, though maybe not right away as it has the misfortune of releasing right after Splatoon 2 hehe.

It released in your area already? Lucky! Still 12 hours to go for midnight eShop launch in the U.S. Unfortunately for me I pre-ordered off Amazon so I'll be waiting until next week. At the time didn't know I would want the game so badly, but atleast I'm getting it $10 cheaper.

Honestly all the E3 announcements got me hyped, but for now I'm just really excited about Splatoon 2, especially after watching the Invitational, though if the online is anything like MK8D then I feel like the experience could be hindered significantly.
