Playing a bit further into wind waker, I have to agree that they should have remade some of these textures, Very low quality. But I still must say, the game looks amazing, it just need some more work for it to be perfect. Theres also some geometry work that could have been done.
At the game time, TP HD was missing so much, it has some disgusting textures that look horrible, even with its upres. While at the same time, most of the game had great texture work. But at the end of the day, the lack a remake of the soundtrack(or even improving it like they did with wind waker), lack of new light engine, and no improved charcter models is inexcuseable. These changes might not be supported by everyone, but they should have been made. I guess Nintendo from the start never had plans to do much more than upres textures, they only had a team of 20 working on this game.

Yeah, TPHD would have benefitted enormously from a lighting upgrade. More than anything else, it was the Gamecube era lighting/shading that dated it.

Yeah, TPHD would have benefitted greatly from a lighting upgrade. In some areas the lighting holds up, in a lot of others it is really flat. But I also am willing to bet that's the feature that most killed performance and would have required a ton of deep technical work. The TP engine isn't exactly a technical marvel.
Oh, at as for the Yooka-Laylee news bit Platina posted, I can see that being mostly true, maybe. Possibly. But the issue here is they should have done sufficient testing to know if this was possible BEFORE PROMISING IT TO POTENTIAL BACKERS! As an indie dev myself hoping to hit KS eventually, I would appreciate it if these former AAA devs would stop descending from the heavens and making promises they don't know if they can keep and then BREAKING THEM. For goodness sake, isn't it bad enough that trust is being constantly worn down by the AAA and Mobile sectors?
