Wow kinect was a gimmick that piece of kit was useless IMO. I liked my 360 but dam that kinnect got put away quick. Motion controls on wii I hated too. Game pad on wii u is OK. PS move is rubbish. Phew think I'm done. Best gimmick ever was a n64 rumble pack. Industry standard now

Nogamez, did you ever play Resident Evil 4 on the wii ?

The fact you had to point the wii mote, like a gun at the screen helped immersion alot for that game.

I feel like it was a really good way to improve first person shooters (maybe not competitive type games) but....

it was pretty much perfect for the survival horror genre.

I agree the motion controls were fun for FPS, though sadly not delivering the needed accuracy for competitive FPS play.

The PS Move with games like Killzone 3 and Resistance 3 was also a very fun combo.

RIP Dad 25/11/51 - 13/12/13. You will be missed but never forgotten.

I only use it for "Xbox On," "Xbox, watch tv," Xbox go to...," and "Xbox, turn off... yes."

Add "Xbox, Record That", "Xbox, Take A Screenshot", and "Xbox, Snap ______" and you have my Xbox One Kinect  experience to a tee!

You're right, I use those too

And "Xbox, mute," when I can't find my remote.

Now if only we could replace the word Xbox by Jarvis, and let Hololens project some high tech interface that would be awesome.

Please excuse my (probally) poor grammar

Child of Eden, with kinect, enough room to move freely infront of a huge TV this game is just amazing a real treat for anyone who invested in a Kinect for the Xbox360.

if you liked rez on the ps2 or rezhd it's very much the same gameplay except where kinect (rather well) equips both your arms with different types of weapons and you fly through different stages of a computer to try to rescue an AI in there, some of the stages are 15-20mins long tho and require a lot of fast changing and gunning, (your right hand is a lock on missile type weapon which can destroy orange targets, your left is a bullet/purple enemy killing machine gunesque weapon that you can only be using one or the other of) but yeah it really can work up a great sweat if you get into the later levels of the game and really it benifits so much from room to play/big screen to play it on.

IR pointer is infinitely more precise than dual analog. Pixel by pixel aiming is possible with a wiimote, when it really isn't with dual analog. Mouse and keyboard is the only thing that compares and I still prefer IR (although that is down to personal preference).

We'll talk about Sixaxis next, specifically for the Sixaxis (Launch controller), Dualshock 3, and Dualshock 4. While Sixaxis is also present in the Move and Vita, we'll just stick to standard console controllers for now.

Sony's Sixaxis, as the name suggests, is a motion sensor that can read 6 directions of motion (3-axis gyroscope plus 3-axis acceleraometer). At the PS3's launch, it was a standard feature on the PS3 controller of the same name. Later, the Dualshock 3 was released. It added rumble motors while keeping the Sixaxis motion sensor. It later appeared in the Dualshock 4 as well, with improved responsiveness and accuracy. Game developers can utilize the motion sensor to allow for an additional method of control input, where controller motion affects the gameplay.

What games or other non-game applications do you think used Sixaxis in the best way? In my opinion, the software keyboard (on PS4) was a great implementation. By pressing R3 in the keyboard, you can use Sixaxis to select the text you need. I have a bluetooth keyboard though, so this doesn't matter much to me. But it's certainly far better than using the D-Pad for those that don't use an external keyboard.

"Never argue with stupid people. They will drag you down to their level and then beat you with experience."

-Samuel Clemens

WipeOut HD - It's the first game I played where full control via the Sixaxis seemed to make sense. I was useless at it but it was fun. (useless at motion control piloting, not WipeOut, I'd beat all your arses at that).

Hmm, pie.

Actually I really enjoyed resident evil 4 on wii. Also motion control was great for wii sports and wii play. Stuff like Zelda though I hated with motion controls and I really struggled on red steel.

Flower has used the Sixaxis the best, IMO.

I never bought a PS3, but back then I could kind of imagine how it would be to play it. I have a PS4 now and I used the $10 code to buy Flower. The first time I played it It felt so natural, just like I imagined it.5

I wonder how the discussion will compare to that of 5 years ago.http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=105063
