Titanfall's review with the most views (basically more than all the other reviews put together) shits on the game for lack of content.  The game's price quickly plummeted to $20 to keep sales going because it got that stigma of not having enough content and people got bored of it quick, Nintendo isn't dropping the price of of their games to $20 (hell I'd be surprised if Splatoon gets a price drop at all) so its legs are gonna be cut if it gets that stigma.

But is not going to have that stigma, because the game is extremely good, feels extremely fresh, is not going to get boring soon because it feels like something new, it has a single campaign and the new stuff is coming very soon for free, and everybody interested knows what is coming, when is coming and for what price (0$).

I remember hearing the same thing about Titanfall.

Edit: I also have my doubts about the single player after I heard its only 28 levels.  Each level is gonna have to be over 17 min to even be a 8 hr game.

I think Starhawk is a good point of comparison seeing as it was a 3rd person shooter that added lots of free maps. How many maps did that game launch with? 15 or so? with 4 game mode plus co-op.

Are you kidding? From the begining people where saying that it was call of duty with robots, nothing new about it. It got even worst after they anounced they would have no single player campaing.

Im not sure if the direct said anithing abut the single player campaing, but if they are adding extra content for free to the multyplayer, I see no reason why the single player could not be upgraed over time, specially since they said they will be adding content that they even dont know what it will be in the future.

It takes genuine talent to see greatness in yourself despite your absence of genuine talent.

The game was getting praised to no end before it came out, everyone was saying believe the hype, and its so refreshing compared to the same old cod every year.  Its mechanics got praised so much even cod ended up used some of them.  Trolls saying its cod with robots is irrelavent because that's obviously not true, anyone can smell the bs there.

It doesn't matter what they can do, its about what they said they will do.  Taking anything else into consideration is just wishful thinking.

It honestly depends on how fun the game is in the base multiplayer. I think the single player will be nice enough but the selling point for this game will be its base multiplayer and if it can draw people to pick up the Wii U in order to play it. Right now, they are trying something similar to what was done with Mario Kart 8 and a much lesser extent Fire Emblem Awakening where downloads are going to unlock more of the game at later dates.

This time it´s true, we have already played it. And it is.

Certainly not ideal situation but far from worse. My problem is that i start to worry about free space on Wii U when thoughts of downloadable content arises. Hopefully the maps and other stuff are compressed well.

As for the price. It seems to be budget priced in Europe but full price title in North America. Weird stuff.

Balls in my mouth, I didn't even think about that. I really don't want to buy an external, but Splatoon might force me to...

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

I would have been on the "its bad" train if the content wasn't free but since it is, there is no real harm done. One can say that they should have delayed it till August but then what does the wiiu owners have to play till August? Fuck all really. Yea its lame that not everything is available day 1 but its certainly not the worst thing in the world because its free

i didn't know the day 1 buyers get such little content. if reviewers are consistent this game will get slammed as they don't review non-released content.

honestly this is a good way to kill the community early. people may think 5 maps is enough when you only get an hour to play the beta but it will wear thin by hour 10. free is free but gamers are also impatient and critical.

The beta had 2. I could be playing the beta a week just with 2 maps and 4 weapons. Because is funny.
